Speaking of which I bricked my S3 trying to flash a rom for the t-mobile version on my Verizon phone.

Who do you guys have insurance through? I have Best Buy's and they took it back and are gonna give me another one. I just walked in and said "My phone won't turn on" and the rep looked at me like I was the dumbest person on earth. But she fooled with it and couldn't get it to go either and said the problem was definitely the phone (obviously) and I'd have to wait a few days to get another one because they were backordered.

You do know you can unbrick your phone. He over to XDA and find your version of the s3.

Never flash a ROM that isn't for your carrier.

Can you unbrick a hard brick? I soft bricked it earlier and was able to recover it.

Usually as long as it will power on you can fix it. It doesn't have to boot or anything.

Yeah that was the problem though, it wouldn't power on at all.

The S3 is on sale at amazon today for $99. Requires new account activation, yadda, yadda, but is a great deal for anyone that hasn't made the jump to a current gen phone.

Wish I'd seen that before I bought one today...

Bought for 200 after the upgrade discounts from Sprint's site, buyback will be 52 on my old HTC Evo.

Maybe I can still cancel, it obviously hasn't shipped out yet.

May as well. You could probably get your local BestBuy to pricematch that as well and just pick it up today.

That's iffy though as BB usually doesn't pricematch online only retailers.

They pricematch Amazon, just not vendors that sell through Amazon. I had them pricematch my S3 when Amazon Wireless was selling it for $150.

You got lucky then, it's very Your Millage May Vary. Corporate policy is to not pricematch internet only retailers like amazon and newegg. That doesn't mean some managers won't do it to make the sale.

Question for you all, as this is my first smartphone upgrade:

Once I get the new phone activated and everything, will I be able to re-download everything I had on the old phone from the Android Store? Including the apps that I already purchased, like Tapatalk and such?

Obviously don't want to buy them again, if I don't have to.

All app store purchases are tied to your Gmail account. You can install them on any device that is registered on that account.

Yeah everything carries over with the email you have: [email protected] go to market and click the top corner and click my apps and they should be there sometimes it acts up though I had an app I wanted after my upgrade and it said I didn't buy it but when I bought it again the market place crashed with an error.
