This seems like it could be the next shift for all apps.

Not that most people have anything to worry about, most phones are above Android 7 anyways (even mine is from a few years ago which originally came with 7, but upgrades up to 9), but I do wonder how long until anything below 10 becomes incompatible. I'd say probably a few years anyways.

I'm hoping I can keep my phone for at least a few more years. Say what you want about more expensive phone aka iPhones, but my phone cost a fraction of the price of an iPhone of people I know, but has a better camera (minus video quality since iPhone has 4k), and so much more storage thanks to supporting SD cards and lasts so much longer. Only reason I'd upgrade is if my current one breaks or becomes incompatible.
Anything under 10 is a security risk. I think 10 already has an EOL date in my company. Now the risk probably isn't that real but the security on the device from password to android updates are great.

Hopefully not a sign that I need a new phone, but randomly today my phone has been flickering a bit. The screen randomly flickers on and off until I just shut down the phone and start it back up again.

I looked around and people suggest a hardware issue or it could've been caused by an update, but I last updated my phone a week ago and it was fine then. Not sure what other issues it could be.

Ordered a regular Note 20 on ebay last week. Was shipped a Note 20 Ultra 5G instead. Definitely not complaining. This phone is such a drastic upgrade from the S9 plus and A71.

My current phone is M21 samsung. The best thing about him is his battery, around 6k mah. Does anyone know, if there will be any phones like that in the nearest time?

I tried to find, even used web scraping service from this site https://finddatalab.com/ to grab all their info in a moment but I didnt find any decent one..

Yesterday's Samsung unpacked event was interesting.

Pretty minor upgrades for the watches, though both the Watch5 does have a 15% bigger battery which is a positive as that's my only real complaint about the Watch4. There is also the Watch5 Pro which claims up to 80 hours of battery life (I think). Only down size is it's a chunky boy, and I'm just not a fan of large watches. I wish they offered a version that was just a little bit smaller.

New Zfold 4 and Zflip 4 phones also look to be improvements over past iterations. I've always been hesitant on adopting these flex screen phones, but the tech does seem to have come a long way.

Not entirely an android specific question, but what kind of material for screen protector would people recommend?

Tempered glass is the one I see most, but I also see a hydrogel kind too on ebay.

Obviously protecting it so it doesn't scratch is the big thing, although I have a case already for it. I'm mainly protecting the screen from fingerprints/oil marks.

Samsung has proprietary screen protectors. Not sure the model you have but go on Amazon and look for an official Samsung screen protector for your phone.

The reviews are mostly positive. It's not tempered glass, but it has been great for me as I've been using it on my S22 Ultra for about six months and no issues so far. Clarity is good and you don't notice it's there. This was the third protector I tried and finally liked this one more than the others. Dropped my phone screen first onto my coffee table and hit a couple things really hard, and not a mark.

Just picked up a Samsung A73 for my pops. Super solid phone for under 600 bucks. Flagship specs on it too. For android, i think I'll stick to mid range phones.

I really like that I have so many options here in Asia to pick from. Vivo, Oppo, Realme make some solid phones to compete with Samsung. I might be looking at Vivo after seeing Flossy Carter reviewing the last one he did.

I've checked screen protector for my phone (A52) but all I see are those 3rd party companies, of course all advertise their screen protector doing the same things.

I already have a case for mine, so dropping shouldn't be as big a concern, it's mainly getting one that won't get fingerprints or anything like that all over it.

Glass is best but in order to keep fingerprints away, not sure you are going to have much luck. Tempered glass is great and some have some coatings but they can't do much without affecting the visibility. You are just going to have to wipe the screen off occasionally.

Is anyone getting the Pixel 7? I plan to if my phone company doesn't make it out to be an impossible issue to upgrade or trade. They seem to have no clue what they are doing most of the time. (Spectrum)

I tried to go to a Spectrum store to get my current S22 and they didn't even have any phones and told me they never have them. I mean wtf?

Anyway, I have to figure out a way to order it online I guess, yet they don't allow online trade-ins anymore. So I may have to pay off a line since I plan on doing financing, which I do with the other phones on my line.

Anyway, I love Google and would have gotten the Pixel 6, but there were so many issues with it. I should have just waited before I got my S22.

Maybe try a trade in at best buy and just get an unlocked one? That might be your best bet in your situation.

Definitely getting the Pixel 7. My Galaxy S21 has given me constant problems for the last few months (in some ways ever since I got it). Pretty sure there is something wrong with the network card. I am a little concerned with the camera on the Pixel 7 from some of the leaks though. I'm sure it's still a great camera, but it seems to be more of the same from prior versions, and other phones have caught up. So, just kind of sucks to pay flagship prices for dated tech.

I'll forever be sad that pixel no longer has the finger print scanner on the back. I find in screen finger print readers to be very inconsistent, and they are not nearly as natural a placement for the finger as when it was on the back.

Hopefully it's a smooth launch though.

Totally agree about the finger print sensor. I loved it on the previous Pixels.

And that might be a good idea actually. I was thinking about maybe just buying it from Google so I don't have to worry about Spectrum giving me the rigmarole. They don't know what they are doing on the phone or in store.
