Re: Worst song ever?
So what, that doesn't make him good. Who cares if he made millions? I'm telling you people thought he was bad when he came out. Your point was either people didn't think he was bad back then or that because he sold records he must have been good. I'm telling you that whichever you choose, you're wrong.I am saying when they found out he was not a thug like he said he was every body turn on him. He never got the respect from the rap world for reason you know. And yes I believe if someone makes million then they are good. I would take making million and not being good compare to being great and not making jack!

Re: Worst song ever?
Britney Spears is pretty successful, but that doesn't make her the mother of music. Number of sales has very little to do with the quality of the music - its all marketing.

Re: Worst song ever?
Then I will take it! I agree with what you are saying, but someone liked her. You guys can slam on all these singers and bands, but someone in the world thought they were good. Unless you are saying the world is full of idiots and the record companies know how to fool the world. It is all opinion, just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't good or everybody hates them. I was given some advice by a famous musician one time. He told me if you are making money in this business then you are good.Comment

Re: Worst song ever?
Actually I am not going to get this thread off track my bad. I will say a band I don't like and they have some weak songs in my opinion. And that is Wham. I can't stand them. Wake me up before you go go makes me sick. In fact one my 7th grade friend died at their concert or after the concert I can't. She had some heart problems.Comment

Man, you guys are a tough crowd.
Party in the USA and Summer Girls are amazingly crafted songs and are staples in our party playlist.
As for worst song, it has to be Who Let The Dogs Out.Comment

Re: Worst song ever?
The Billboard top 100 has, from what I can tell, a whopping 11 country songs, all but 1 coming outside the top 40. The highest came in at #31.
You should stick to not making hilarious statements. Country music is not the most popular genre in America.

Funny you use that second source to say rock is the most popular, yet there are 0 rock songs in the top 20 in the Hot 100. #22 is Kings of Leon. Not sure what you consider rock, but if you consider Boys Like Girls rock then they are next at #45.
There are 16 songs on the Hot Country that are also on the Hot 100. I count 7 songs on the Rock chart that are also on the hot 100(3 of them in 90-100)
For the second link, what do they define as rock? Bands like Metallica that are actual rock, or do they throw in bands like Boys Like Girl and Cobra Starship?Comment

Re: Worst song ever?
Uhm, buddy the 4, 14 and 21 songs are all country. The highest rock song is #22.

Rock is unique in the sense that songs get regular radio play for decades and thus don't chart particularly well, but it's huge difference in sales indicates that it is clearly #1. Rap, pop, and dance have, at worst, equal sales and far better chart performances for current music.Comment

Re: Worst song ever?
How can anyone say country music is the most popular genre in the nation? It's not even close. I love country but hip-hop/rap has got to be #1.
It's tough to narrow it down into one genre, though, considering how many songs cross over into different genres (like Taylor Swift, for example, had country aspects to her songs before Fearless, now she's a pop singer with a southern accent. And I'm a fan of hers.)
And then there's rock, which may not be in the top 10-15 songs usually, but is quietly up there in terms of popularity.Comment

I am wrong? How mature!I am saying when they found out he was not a thug like he said he was every body turn on him. He never got the respect from the rap world for reason you know. And yes I believe if someone makes million then they are good. I would take making million and not being good compare to being great and not making jack!
And just because he sold a lot of records doesn't mean he had real fans. He was a fad, a trend, a gimmick and nothing more. His "fans" didn't even buy his 2nd album.Comment
