Dane Cook: ISolated INcident Global Thermo Comedy Tour

Just got back about an hour ago from seeing this. Hilarious. I did think Vicious Circle was better but this was right up there with it. The jokes were awesome and the 2 guys who opened before Dane (can't remember their names) were on point too.

I don't really want to ruin any of the jokes for anyone else if they happen to go see this but there was one funny thing at the end of the show. He left, said goodbye and all of that and acted like the show was over but as we were leaving, you could hear him come back out.

So we went back in and Dane was talking about how he never Google'd his own name but just recently he finally got around to it. So he Google'd his name and he sees all these things about him being a "f'ing doucebag" and your typical hate messages. He read all of them and then there was a letter he got from "[email protected]". He even brought it with him to read to everyone.

The letter was titled "Please Read This" and the guy said (paraphrasing here) "your parents died of cancer because they hate your ****ty jokes". BTW, Dane's mom passed away but just not from cancer (IDK if his dad has passed as well).

Almost a year to the day that letter was sent, 'anonymous' sends a new letter titled "Please Read This". "Anonymous" said in this letter that his dad was dying of a brain tumor at the time he sent the last letter and he sent it because he was also drunk and jobless. Dane decided to respond to the guy this time and this was his response: "Your dad died because he hated his drunk, jobless, ****face of a son."

It wasn't as funny as all the other jokes but like I said I didn't want to spoil anything. Just know that if you go, it will be worth your money and you'll get a ton of laughs out of it.

Not everyone is gonna like him and that's your opinion.

IMO, the guy is funny. Sometimes maybe not so much but most of the time, he is hilarious.

EDIT: You don't think this is funny? (Watch the whole thing)

I'm checking out the DVD soon via Netflix.

I don't get all the hate for the guy. I think it has become that weird phenomenon where people feel like they're supposed to hate the guy because they've heard that from other people and it just snowballs.

He's not in my top 10 comedians or anything but he's a lot better than some guys who get a lot less hate.

Nope, it has everything to do with him just not being funny.

I remember when I first heard of the dude, it was on an MTV awards show or something and Snoop Dogg introduced him. He was talking about how funny he was and how he has everyone cracking up, then Cook comes out and bombs. He's one of the unfunniest comedians I've ever heard, if not the most. He's just not funny.

My gf bought me tickets to this for my bday... absolutely HILARIOUS. And the two acts that went on before DC were great as well. It was a very, VERY good show.

Funny sidenote: there was apparently a really annoying chic in the front row in one of the sections, really bothering everyone down there (my gf's friend was down there and texting us about it), and eventually DC got so annoyed, he turned around, stopped his show, and told security over his mic to "get this girl the f' out of here"! Lol, it was hilarious... the entire section started cheering. The look on her face as she got escorted out was priceless.

Again though, the show was MONEY.

The 2 guys that opened were a guy that said he was Italian and a big, bald guy right?

I can't remember their names but they had some good stuff.

The funny thing is, there was an annoying girl in my row that sat two seats from me. She had to repeat every-****ing-thing Dane said. She obviously had too much to drink because everytime she got up to go down the steps I thought she was going to tumble down them. It's too bad she didn't get thrown out like that girl at your show but we weren't too close to the stage.

There's two types of people in this world, people who like Dane Cook, and people who enjoy good comedians.

I don't know. I understand not everyone is going to like him or be a fan of his stuff but it just seems like the hate is X100 for him over any other comedian.

You can't say he isn't funny either because he had no problem making 15,000 people laugh their assess off last night.

If you can't watch a Dane Cook show and not laugh at least once, props to you I guess.

Yes I can, but I guess Shaggy is a great musician since he sold 10 million albums.

Also, if a comedian makes me laugh only once during an entire show, I'd say that comedian sucks.

That Google joke is on the ISolated INcident CD and it's one of my favorites by him.

Also love the one about calling his mom's phone number for old time's sake. LOL.

I think the hate on him is magnified because of his celebrity status. I'm sure there are plenty of comedians people don't like, but they're not half as famous, so you don't hear people being as vocal about it.
He's just a whiter version Carlos Mencia in my eyes. He's loud, obnoxious, and horribly unfunny, yet people love him for some reason. Like somebody else pointed out, just because he's popular doesn't mean he's good at what he does. He just knows how to appeal to the masses. Andrew Dice Clay was selling out stadiums back in the day, is he a good comedian? I rest my case.

Good point. The difference between him and Shaggy though is Shaggy was a one hit wonder. Dane Cook has done about 4-5 CDs, Comedy Central specials, etc. and they have all been pretty successful.

LOL yeah that one was really good. He was making everyone feel sad because he never could get around to deleting his Mom from his phone since she died and then he drops that joke.

IMO, people like him because they can relate to a lot of his jokes and stories.

A couple examples of that would be the joke he said last night about all guys having 'that folder' on their computers that they don't want their GF to see (which was classic BTW) and the one from Vicious Circle where he has that day at work where he needed to have a crying session and he holds it in until he gets home.
