I usually use Audacity, but it will not recognize the file. How can I change this to an MP3, or something that Audacity recognizes so that I can clip sound bytes from the CD and add it to the different pages on my site.....thanks.

How do I convert this audio file
I just received a two CD set from another web site (716th MP BN) that has the radio dispatch chatter from Tet '68 (the night the VC/NVA attacked Saigon). I want to add some of this to my web site, but the audio file says CDA?

Re: How do I convert this audio file
Okay, got it, thanks for that. Dragged the sound file the desktop. File shows it's an MP3, right click on it and it says MP3 Format Sound (mp3). Opened AUDACITY and it will not allow me to open saying it is "uncompressed". (It's a big file 23.1 MB, almost three hours long). I was prompted to IMPORT AS RAW DATA and did that, but when I press play I just get a "click" sound and that's it.Comment

Go to: http://www.zamzar.com/
and convert your file to another type of music file or maybe even .mp3 again. They will email you the converted file. It only takes a minute or two when I convert one song, but your file might take an hour or so, who knows. But after it's converted, it will work in audacity.Comment

No problem. Yea, .wav will work. I love audacity! I'm still learning new things every time I use it. You can adjust the volume on your tracks and zoom in and out of the progress bar to precisely pinpoint where you want your clip to start and stop. I love it.Comment
