Longhorn - my sister will only be envious of my niece, she won't care. Maybe if she wasn't so lazy and would work she could earn some money and have some nice things of her own. I'm not buying her anything at all for Christmas for her either. In fact I am really not even speaking to her anymore. Aren't the holidays great? Hahahaha

I just know sometimes parents will get mad when someone gives their kid something better than they did, so didn't need to give you advice that would lead to a family squabble.

Since that isn't a problem, buy it for her, get her a gift card to get her started, and offer her your help setting everything up just to be extra nice.

Yeah, that's my plan. I plan to set it up for her initially, add some stuff in, then repackage it. Give her the gift with a gift card, then show her how to use the apps store. But first I have to learn how to use it as I've never used an iPod touch.

As for my sister, like I said, she will be envious but she won't get mad about it.

Yeah, the app store is actully really easy. You just need to have a WiFi connection, press the 'app store' icon and then look around.

Best thing to do - go through all the free apps, at first. There are some really good ones on there that don't cost anything.

One thing I thought of, I don't know if she has iTunes all ready or not, and you'll want to set it up so she can sync on her computer...Not sure if you're dl'ing songs other ways, so you'd have to throw those on DVD so you could get the iPod syncing everything with her own iTunes account (if that makes any sense)....

Yeah that does make sense. And she does have iTunes because I gave her my old 8gig ipod nano a while back.

I was thinking about getting one myself, but since I already have a 32GB iPhone 3GS, it would be overkill lol. Still, I love the design and if I didn't have an iPhone, I'd shoot for the touch

Thanks man! Well I got back from Best buy and got a $25 gift card, a pink shell type casing for the ipod and composite a/v cables. I know it's crappy composite but she'll just have to like it, i've already spent a ton of money on her!

How'd she like the gift ODogg?

I'm debating if I should get myself an iPod touch or the iPhone.

My old nano does not work anymore so I'm due for a new iPod of some sort. I've thought of just getting the iPhone but I already have a Blackberry. I love my Blackberry but it'd be nice to only carry one device that handles my phone and music needs.

well my sister wouldn't allow me to see the kids on christmas since she was breaking up with her fiance so that sucked but from what i hear she loves it. I know I love it. I'd HIGHLY recommend the ipod touch. it's about 10x better than i thought it'd be, all the apps are great.

it's like a mini-laptop in so many ways plus it's better because you don't have to lug around a big machine.

Just exchanged a Nano I got for Xmas for the touch. Got it for $333(64GB). Loving it. Apps are so addicting.
