Which one of these HTIB should I get?

My budget is limited to $250 and I have to buy from Amazon because I have gift cards.

    http://www.amazon.com/LG-LHT854-1000...1510060&sr=1-1

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

It's for my bedroom. TV is 42" Panny Plasma. Optical audio running from 360 and from TV.

Is there any possible way you can stretch your budget another $50? I honestly wouldn't recommend any of those b/c they don't have a receiver to hook your stuff to...those are just DVD players.

If you can get to $300 this would be MUCH MUCH better: http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-HT-S3200...1514258&sr=1-3

I wouldn't purchase a system that doesn't have a true reciever or one that uses proprietary cables (that Sony system) that make upgrades nearly impossible.

And Onkyo makes much better speakers than any of those listed above. Good luck.

EDIT: Just noticed that the Onkyo system includes Audyssey set-up. You set up your speakers, plug in the mic, start the program and the receiver automatically calibrates your speakers for the best sound. That alone is worth the $50 upgrade.

Gamecock is right, you need to figure out how to get another $50 and get what he has marked above, it's vastly superior. Onkyo is what I have and it is great!

Also gonna agree with Gamecock. You're wasting your money if you go with the options you listed. And the product he listed also looks pretty good for the price. I bought an Onkyo speaker set and it's solid.

Yeah. I have a Yamaha one that came with a legit receiver, and it's necessary if you have multiple things. It's got 2 optical inputs for audio, component, composite, etc. I have video go to the TV and audio to the receiver and it works great.

My first HTIB didn't have any quality inputs and it was disappointing. It worked ok with gaming (a few basic inputs), but you'll probably want more if you have cable, ps3, 360, wii, etc...

Video is passed in its native resolution--right up to 1080p--from Blu-Ray Disc, PlayStation® games, or HD broadcasts.

it'll spit out whatever you feed it.

Well is that price gonna be secure for a while?

Damnit, why must yall point out better options so I spend more money?!?!?!

What if I HAD to choose between the LG or Sony? That is a $100 price difference.

My TV is only 720p, so not spitting out in 1080p is of no concern to me. 99% of the usage will be though antenna TV and my xbox 360. I'd be running optical though

                    The LG. Easily

Note: You really want to stay away from a system that has proprietary cables.

Assuming you can't get the Onkyo of course.

ah yes, what I read was pertaining to the component video outputs, my bad. damn..maybe I'll save up for that onkyo. the only problem is I really don't want to be running wires around my living room.

Yeah, you can't upconvert to 1080p over component cables on protected discs (blu rays, dvds, etc). That's why most receivers are pass thru so the video signal passes through the receiver straight from the source to the display (HDTV).

                            :
That's what I figured. Looks like that one can decode more types of audio.

And the onkyo is being sold by TigerDirect. Up to 324 now :/ See if it goes down wouldn't be able to make the buy until the weekend anyways.

QFT, proprietary cables suck hard. My first HTIB had these as well, you'll never be able to upgrade speakers if you want in the future. You can't upgrade the receiver and keep the speakers if you want as well...just very limiting.
