Yeah, cables can die out too - which people usually forget (even myself). Sometimes it's good to keep a cable around that you know works so that if the router is having problems you can test the cable with a good one - I've had to do that a few times myself, thinking it was my router - but it was the cable instead.

Yeah, cables can die out too - which people usually forget (even myself). My brother-in-law still feels strongly it was the router going bad. He walked me through the Linksys admin/status page and I wasn't getting a connection from the modem to the router.
I just thought it ironic the new router didn't work until I swapped out the old Cat 5 for the new one.
I hooked up the old cables immediately and waited 5 minutes and nothing happened. I just decided to see if something would happen if I put the new cable in.
I don't know if it was a timing issue or not.Comment
