1080p looks amazing at 32". I think i've heard that 1080p show's up the best on that size tv.

I hope you're being sarcastic. It's widely believed that you can't even see the benefits of 1080p till about 46" and beyond. 1080p on a 32" is completely
unnecessary, unless you're sitting about 4 feet from the tv.

Pretty accurate. It could possibly make a difference if you're using it as a computer monitor and need to see some small text. But then you are sitting super close (1 ft away).

But in normal viewing situations, it's not needed.

Hmmm really.......so 1080p is only needed for 46 inches or bigger ? Wow....

Learned something new tonight. So what are you guys take on LED ? What size is it worth it to get it for ???? I know I heard so far that the sound on LED tvs are poor.

Nice concept and marketing, but it's still a LCD. why pay a king's ransom to get a plasma's picture when you can save money by just buying a plasma?

they are capitalizing on "thin is in"....even with tvs

The tech used to produce a picture has nothing to do with how a TV sounds. If a TV sounds bad it's because is has poor audio processing within the TV. Not because the TV is LED LCD or PLASMA.

As for needing bigger to see a difference. That's not true IMO. What really matters is how far are you sitting away from the display (Viewing Distance) I had a 32" 720p LCD in my bedroom. I just upgraded to a 37" 1080p LCD & the difference in the picture is very noticable. My viewing distance is about 8ft.

As for LED LCD as a TECH. I own the NEW TOSHIBA LED "Back-Light" LCD TV. 55" IMO the picture quality is on par with some of the BEST PLASMA's on the market. Black Levels are very deep & Colors look really good. Motion is very good also.

If you are looking into LED LCD look @ "Back-Light" LED. It will give you are more better & accurate picture than "Edge-Lit" LED LCD TV.

                        Re: Rate these tv's

Well I know the type of tv dont necessarly have to do with the sound. However I have had about 5 people who own one tell me the sound was kind of poor due to the fact the tv itself is so thin, they cant really fit any decent size speakers within the tv.

But anyway that really dont matter to me because I hook every tv that I own up to a surround sound system. Now that edge lighting and back lighting is what confuses the hell out of me. From my understanding only certain Samsung models have the edge lighting correct ?

And far as plasmas go.....which model and brand is the best kind to get ?? For I know for sure the Sanyo plasmas are crap, along with the emerson plasmas.

So with plasmas is it really what you get is what you pay for kind of thing ? For example the only good plasmas are the one over $1,000 type of thing ? Like what kind of specs should one look for in a plasma ?

When it comes to GOOD PLASMA TV, Panasonic, Samsung & LG in that order are what's out there. Yeah, Emerson & Magnavox & Sanyo exist, but your taking a chance with these companies around Quality.

Depending on what your looking to spend is what will probably determine your choices. If your looking to stay under $1,000 or close to that price & trying to get 50" & wanna "Future Proof" by going 1080p these are probably your choices:

                          http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VIER.../dp/B001U3YJTY

                          http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PN50B5...2117468&sr=1-6

                          http://www.amazon.com/LG-50PS60-50-I...117625&sr=1-22

As for LED LCD TV's unfortunately you won't find any in that price range.

it's all about the brand with plasma, like the above poster said. panasonic, samsung, lg are the way to go. I would steer clear of lesser known brands.

Thanks alot. Yeah the cheapest 55 inch LED TV I seen was for $2,000 at Walmart, it is a Vizio and I am iffy when it comes to Vizio.

Vizio's are very solid, especially considering how they are priced. Here's a review on their 55": http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...?tag=mncol;lst
