I get a decent one... She makes sure I'm not broke and we have electricity. I'd have a 95" LED and no power. That wouldn't be so much fun. Seriously, she's really good for me. And she's been a real champ putting up with me and this little project. Of course, I did pay off her car and she got $500 for clothes. Momma didn't make dumb kids..... LOL!

P.S. Since we've been together I've probably spent $5000 on computers and related stuff alone. Then about 2500-3000 on Xboxes and games. She's been a saint, most of the time. She did say "you must be joking" right before we got married and I spent $500 on a videocard. A Ti4600, I still remember that one!

Nope. I get to go out to eat! At someplace that is actually nice, not to mention other "benefits" associated with those special times.

Good day between UPS and the Mail. Got my 360, and my 3-PC copy of Office 2010. You guys should try that Discount Mountain Software. It's legit, fast with the ship and cheap! Just set up the HD-PVR. It looks even better on the i-7 than it did on the quad. Full capture rate, nary a hiccup. Very pleased. Just gotta wait and see what day my last set of connectors get here to see if I can rig the HD-PVR to do PC footage from the Qaud to the i-7 or Vice-versa. Gonna get some NCAA footage real soon. I'm just waiting for the Soccer and Basketball season. I'm gonna be burning up the Hard Drive with that!

Got my cables to hook the HD-PVR up to the PC. Didn't work. Ended up buying a GTX260 which has the HDTV port I need to send the PVR a signal it'll recognize. Should get it tomorrow, I won it on EBay for $107 and change and the dude lives about 15-20 minutes up in Tipp City. He said he'd bring it to me. Saved $12.00 on shipping. Gotta put in the bigger PSU (650 watt Coolmax) I bought. Was gonna send it back to Tiger Direct, but now I have need. Gonna put the HD5770 up on EBay after I know the NVidia card is the right solution. Gotta love it. Will this ever be finished? It'll be worth it in the end, I hope..... Maybe I should go get another Hard Drive while I'm at it!

                Re: This my newest toy.

Got the NVidia card today. Dude helped me put it in. We had to take a bracket out in the HP stock case. Now I have a 600 watt PSU and a videocard which is 10" long. Hooked up the HD-PVR and it captures my i-7 output on the Quad. Looks pretty good, so far. Gonna re-install NBA2k and see how it turns out on a recording. It looked kinda herky-jerk, but then I actually switched over to the 1-7 and it did on there, too. This card is supposed to be the same level as a HD4870, so we'll see. But, hey, I'm heading in the right direction, finally!

I'm gonna be able to capture both 360 footage at 720p and PC gaming footage at 1920x1080. I've got one more step. Gotta hook it all through my component selector and see if the HD-PVR still works. Gonna put up some footage in a bit. But, so far, I've gotten some really good 360 stuff at 60FPS. The 1080 stuff is only 30FPS. But it still looks good. Much better than the Intensity Pro. Smooth, not choppy.

Well, after a long day of trying to get everything up and running, I finally did it! Ended up putting the i-7 460-watt PSU in the old quad, along with the HD5770. Gonna sell some junk and get me a 1TB HDD to put in the Quad and run it in Raid-0. Should give me even better capture performance. I had to mess around with a few settings on the HD-PVR, but finally got something smooth and show-worthy. So without a further ado.....

Damn that defense was CLUE-LESS. I have never seen a defense that bad in a soccer game before. Great video though.

Is all of this just to record game play in HD?

I hope not......he dropped some serious dough on this equipment, so I hope he uses it for more then just that.

Nope. I shoot and edit videos for church. I bought the best stuff I could afford to be able to the best job I can. I'm kinda building a little home studio. Next I've gotta build my Chroma Key wall. I'm actually building a portable one. The gaming stuff is an added bonus. Over the next few months my YouTube channel will get kinda full with the various things I'm producing. To your first question, my wife would've killed me if this was all about gaming vids! I just ended up deciding to go for every aspect of what I'd end up wanting or needing to do my various editing projects. She can't complain too much. I just spent $6000 on her, between paying off her car and new clothes. I'm still waaaay under her.
