This song he wrote for the movie "Singles" in the early nineties, which has some good music in it. It's a beautiful piece.

^The video in the 4th post here shows his voice is just fine. He did Hungerstrike damn well. Not to mention he has always done Soundgarden songs live.

Here is a live acoustic done by him of a Soundgarden song...

        <EMBED height=340 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=560 src=http://www.youtube.com/v/DaDjBjlGywE&hl=en_US&fs=1& allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></EMBED>
That's a rather tame song though. What I'm concerned about is how well, he'll be able to belt out songs like "Jesus Christ Pose" or "Slaves and Bulldozers". I don't want Soundgarden, if they decide to make a new disc, to do all mid tempo to slow material because Chris can no longer wail like he use to(if he indeed can't that is).

I'm also excited about the reunion of Faith No More. Now if only the original Primus would hit the scene again. Most of my favorite nineties groups would be back and maybe there could be some great music once again. Most of the crap now days just doesn't compare.

Hungerstrike isn't tame at all, and he belts that out perfectly still.

He has stopped smoking and drinking, so his voice is finally in great shape again.

Exactly. It'll be nice to hear some old Soundgarden again. I hope they don't stray too far from that if they put out anything new. If it's anything like what he's done in the past decade, I don't see this going very far.

Check out his first solo album Euphoria Morning. Its quite different from his Soundgarden stuff, but its just as amazing. If you're a fan of Jeff Buckley you should like that album.

Also, if you can track it down, he did an all acoustic set for a Swedish radio station a couple years ago. Its an awesome performance - features great covers of Billie Jean, Thank You, and Redemption Song. If you can't track it down let me know.

Anyway, if Chris can do Beyond the Wheel even half as well as he did in the late 80s I will be happy. I don't expect him to hit those wails like he used to (its been almost 15-20 years), but it will be nice to see them live.

I wonder how this will affect Pearl Jam since Cameron is their drummer too.

They are taking 2010 off other than a small two week tour in Europe over the summer. Even so, it is only around 10 dates and they can get a substitute for Matt quite easily.

I was wondering the same thing. They may just tour together and Cameron do a double show.

                              This is indeed good news.

A buddy and I flew halfway across Australia and paid for expensive Linkin Park tickets (who i don't even like that much) just to see Cornell in 2007 and even though he seemed to be mostly going through the motions his voice was still absolutely fantastic.
