    RE: X Factor,

I've seen it once and it's a pretty good show but the difference between it and America/Britain's Got Talent is so minimal that the only thing that tip the scales is the personality of the judges on both shows.

I hope they get Paula so it's Paula and Simon reunited. Paula alone is loopy and annoying but i think they are a good team.

It was announced the other day she is going to be on a new CBS show called Got To Dance. She's the lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach.

Isn't X-Factor only for singers? I heard Simon say that the major difference is allowing groups.

America's Got Talent is for anyone with a talent. I went to a taping and people will do anything they think is cool.

Ellen quit and Kara is fired.
Randy Jackson will be joined by J-Lo and maybe Steven Tyler.

American Idol to have 3 judges next season

I like Jennifer Lopez as a judge. She did a nice job as a mentor. Steven Tyler - no thanks. He is too ugly.

I may just be back watching after all then. If they had kept Ellen and Kara I was def. avoiding the show.

Well, I was petty sure I was done after Simon left (my wife was trying to keep me hanging on) but Kara was the only judge after him who gave actual useful feedback at times and now she's apparently gone.

I mighta still been on-board if they went with Harry Connick Jr over Tyler. I thought he was great with contestants when he was on there and he actually has a good personality to replace Simon.

All that said, I just realized how sad it is that I spent that much time talking about a show I really don't care all that much about, so I'm going to go put my head in a hot oven now.

I watched all 2 hours Odogg. IMO the show is missing that venom from the judges area for sure. I feel though that the producers are going in a different direction. Putting the camera and the focus back on the talent and away from the judges. There were some really talented kids out there. If they can get the right mix of talent they might be able to bring back more viewers. Me personally I only watch the audition shows.

I thought the new judges did a good job. Auditions went off like usual. I didn't miss Simon like I thought I would. Maybe I will once they get to the voting part.
There were some really good voices last night. I'll have to pull for the kid from Merrick, NY (sang "Yesterday") since that's just few miles away from me.
They also let a couple through that were average at best with wacky personalities. I guess for "train wreck" appeal.

My wife like's American Idol. I watched the first couple seasons, I enjoy the first few weeks to see the losers, I find it funny. Once they get to the "Good" singers i quickly lose interest. Being a musician for 35 years, I just can't stand the mainstream poppy-ness of this show. The songs the contestants sing, the featured artist nights , it's all mainstream crap to me. So I haven"t watched in years. The wife still watches, I poked my head in the living room last night while she was watching for 5 minutes. My only comment , Jennifer Lopez is hot. Not hot enough to get me to watch though.

DVR'd the first 2 episoded and finally got around to watching them. I was very skeptical going in as I felt that without Simon this show would be a train wreck.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I thought Steven Tyler was going to be the weak link but he was pretty funny. Jennifer Lopez was a breath of fresh air compared to Ellen, Kara or Paula. The only bad thing I would say so far is that they are too nice. Who is going to be the bad guy?

The one thing I never liked about watching the Top 12 area was when they do the interviews with the interviews on the screen and they show what song they are going to sing and their preparation during the process. It already shows some of how they're kind of going to sing it and ruins the moment of when they're actually going to sing.

Don't know why I felt compelled to chime in with that haha. I haven't yet been able to watch any of the episodes. I can't remember if they air on Mondays, but if they do then I can't since I have class at that time.

Another pretty good episode last night. Really like Steven Tyler.

Steven: "Sh*t Fire And Save Matches, F*** A Duck And See What Hatches."

                              What does that even mean?
