    Dear John

Yes, I am starting a post about this movie. The gf wants to see it, but only if the ending doesn't end tragically. Anyone have any idea how it ends? I found ending for the book and it didn't seem to bad, just as long as John the main character doesn't die cuz she has a close friend over seas and it's not what she wants to see. I heard the movie ends different so I'm not sure.

im not a forum expert, but the book ending should be in spoiler tags, and I dont think the idea of going to the movies is knowing what happens before you get there.....

Thank you for you crappy input. If you had bothered to think some and read where I said, "just as long as John the main character doesn't die cuz she has a close friend over seas and it's not what she wants to see" it might have, JUST MIGHT have clued you in on why I want to know the end of the movie.

I'll break it down for you. She has a close friend over seas, doesn't want to see a movie where, here is the kicker, the main character a guy over seas dies!!! OMG SHOCKING!!! I KNOW!!!!

Hey, Ollie, here is the Wiki for the novel... if that helps at all. I couldn't find anything on the film ending, but chances are they'll be pretty similar:

EDIT: Crap, sorry dude, I didn't see where you said you found the novel ending. Hopefully they're the same though!

Anything with Channing Tatum in it deserves to flop (except for Coach Carter but he wasn't a major character).

From what I gathered, the guy doesn't die at the end of the book. Well, Im going to assume that there is a 90% chance the guy probably doesn't die at the end of the movie.

Ill break it down for you. Spoiler tags were added to the forums to just "play it safe" and also be respectful of other people. Maybe I dont want to know that the end of the book "isnt that tragic",etc. would it have killed you to put up spoiler tags?

                      Yikes.

Anyways, Channing Tatum = Megan Fox. Sub-par actors who are just eye candy.

                        Re: Dear John

My girlfriend really wants to see this movie. I had to draw the line, there is noway I'm spending my money and wasting my time to see this movie.

The part in the preview when the chick says ''your not scared of anything John'' and John says ''I'm scared of you''. That was the nail in the coffin for me.

I can handle a sappy love story if it has good actors and a good plot. This isn't one of those movies.

I promised my wife I would go see it with her and she is dragging me there tomorrow. Were suppose to get a lot of snow tomorrow so maybe that will save me.

Hopefully this movie is at least somewhat decent, the last movie she made me see with her was The Ugly Truth and I actually liked it so hopefully this is at least ok.
