The part in the preview when the chick says ''your not scared of anything John'' and John says ''I'm scared of you''. That was the nail in the coffin for me.

Yes, I am starting a post about this movie. The gf wants to see it, but only if the ending doesn't end tragically. Anyone have any idea how it ends? I found ending for the book and it didn't seem to bad, just as long as John the main character doesn't die cuz she has a close friend over seas and it's not what she wants to see. I heard the movie ends different so I'm not sure.

The girl rubs her hands on Channing tatum's war inflicted wound strategically placed right above his oiled abs while he sports the generic Channing Tatum douchechill look on his face, the girl whispers "John" and "marine", he mumbles something unintelligible and the two makeout like lustfulll lovers in the dewey sand. Fade to credits.

I would put a spoiler here but it IS a Channing Tatum movie. Anything he comes in contact with becomes inevitebly spoiled, so such an act would be considered pretty redundant in nature.

Nah man, just think he is possibly the worst marble mouthed actor of all time and he looks like a huge dick which doesn't help. Person on imdb summed it up best-

Channing Tatum's agent should mediate between Israel and Palestine because if he got this talentless DB an acting job he can make essentially any deal happen.

LOL I never noticed his terrible acting well I haven't watched too many of his movies. GI:Joe was horrible but everything and everyone was horrible in that movie so maybe I didn't notice how bad he really is. I just don't like him because my wife use to have all these posters of him in her room like 3 or 4 years ago when she was in high school.

I keep bothering her and saying the only reason you want to see this movie is to see your boyfriend's abs.

5,000 Facebook statuses made me hate this movie.

Sounds like Twilight for me.. Come to think of it.. all the people that seemed to enjoy this movie are the same people who are obsessed with Twilight and think it's such a great movie, even though Kristen Bell is possibly the worst actress in the world right now...

Wasnt Dear John letters usually break up letters, like the girl back home has met someone else? Is this how the movie ends?

The ony reason I ask this is in my countless hours of watching MASH (in 30 minute increments) I believe there was atleast one Dear John and thats what it contained.

Yeah the last letter she writes him is a "dear john" letter where she tells him she is engaged to someone. But of course it all ends well at the end and they fall back in love.
