Yeah, I remember the conversation. My wife was screaming at me through the show because my dog was letting out rank farts and I didn't want to let him out because I thought there might be a skunk outside. So I missed some of the dialog. I wasn't aware that Calisimo was the block but I do remember he wanted to focus on brothels. All makes sense now.

It wasn't bad but there was something missing, maybe a certain grittiness. Everything seemed too clean for lack of a better word. I got this vibe of style over substance or maybe the series has been overhyped to me.

It could be the casting of Buscemi in the lead role. I'm a big Buscemi fan but I don't know if he can carry a series or a movie. He's more in his element as a supporting character. He doesn't seem convincing to me as someone who should be feared and is ruthless just from the way he looks and his presence on screen.

It is to early to judge the series but the debut didn't grab me like it did with other cable shows like the Sopranos and Dexter.

I only recognized it because I know some Al Capone history and knew of Carlisimo being whacked by Torrio and Capone in real life. This isnt supposed to be a completely historical show but as soon as I saw Carlosimo I figured he wasnt long for this series. They didnt explain it very much in the premier. I imagine they will next episode.

The show aired last night. Anything that happened last night is open for "spoiler free" discussion as far as I'm concerned. Save the previews for next week.

I mean do what you want, but putting spoiler tags around stuff like people dying at the end of a show would make me happy, considering I don't have HBO and it takes me longer than a day to "get a hold" of the episode.

I was just checking in to see what people thought of the premiere.

I don't know man, I get what you're saying and I put a lot of stiff in spoiler tags but, for me it's not worth the risk.

I was more than 2 seasons behind on Dexter and I just never went into any thread about Dexter because I didn't want to be spoiled by people discussing it. That made perfect sense to me and I don't think I'm in the minority here.

Yeah. I got ahold of the episode like 3 hours after it was done. Don't get to see the previews for next week, so those should go into the tags, especially because a ton of people hate seeing any previews. 24 was king at ruining **** in their previews.

Well if there's no room for spoiler tags for a show less than 20 hours after it premieres, then I guess there's no room for spoiler tags at all.

Well unfortunately (for you), you are in the minority.

It's pretty simple. Stay out of a thread after an episode airs until you've seen it, or risk seeing things that will ruin that episode for you. It's common sense.

Do we seriously need to have this conversation in every single thread for a TV show?

Talk about the show freely as it airs, and after it airs. If you're going to talk about something that happens IN THE FUTURE OF THE SHOW, as in if you read something or from the previews, it goes in spoiler tags. That's it.

You come into a thread the day after an episode you haven't watched and get something ruined for you, it's your fault.
