In states with very strong unions those professions can be highly overpaid, especially with pension plans being factored in.Comment

I was referring more to the "glorified babysitters" comment, not the overpaid part.Comment

He did, however, lose around 75% of his next worth in the spring of 2009 in a bad business venture.Comment

We aren't unionized, and apparently, that's why my job doesn't fall into that category. Perhaps I should look into relocating.
And the glorified babysitter's comment, i won't even begin in on that.Twitter - WTF_OS

As someone who works with youth (Boys and Girls Club) I can say that some teacher (especially at "at-risk" schools) are there to just cash a check and make sure that no one dies, but a lot spend their own money on materials and sometimes act as role-model, and parent to a lot of the kids they work with. So baby-sitter they are not.Favorite Teams:

I'm obviously not referring to those areas or even the south, but in richer cities it can be excessive.
Boston has 1432 members of their police department making 6 figures with most of them just being "officer" or "detective."
If you're willing to put up with horrible accents, you should really consider relocating.

Re: Phil Ivey had $2 Million on the colts to win....
I should of put this my statement in context.
Where I live we have hardly any fires or crime, in addition to that, the police officers and firemen probably make more money then ones in the bigger cities.
Is a Chicago cop or firefighter overpaid.....NO. Is a Cop/Firefighter in the suburbs overpaid .....YES."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment
