Very, very nice.



Microsoft has rebranded their Mobile OS, for use in smartphones. The OS seems entirely new, which is a good thing if you're familiar with Windows Mobile.

They've also taken on a minimalist approach, seemingly, and that bodes well for a company that have never done that in the past.

this is a move MS had to make to stay relevant in the market, and it's nice that they basically listened to everyone and will deliver a platform for what's essentially a Zune HD phone.

Holiday 2010 is a long ways off though.

To be fair to the Droid, which I know was considered one of the "iPhone killers," even the creators of it said in interviews that it was not what they intended it to be. I believe they used the term "iPhone defender" in reference to hopefully keeping people with Verizon and a phone that was similar/could do similar things.

But yeah, it's getting ridiculous. Apple just needs to make the iPhone multi-carrier and we could move past this. And then I could get an iPhone.

LOL. I'd probably be one of those people camping out at a store waiting for them to go on sale if they announced I could use an iPhone (non-jailbroken) on Verizon.

If it happens, who knows, I may be there with you. LOL But until, even with my complaining about my Blackberry at times, it still works better for me than any other phone out there on Verizon.

This is a mobile OS announcement, not solely a new phone. It will be available on more than one phone.

And their XBL integration gives them an advantage in that aspect. Trying to do things on XBL with the iPhone is a PITA.

But only Windows Mobile phones, I get that, just like the Blackberry OS.

None of these phones will ever compete with the iPhone until they have one phone, one set of apps.

With Blackberry, there's 4,000 models and half the apps work with one model while the other work with another model.

The one app I use on my iPod Touch for XBL works great, it's called 360Live and it's free from the app store.
