The truth of the matter is opinions can be right, and in this instance I believe I'm right. My eyes, ears, all my senses tell me this guy is a hack.

I'm glad we agree that your perception of favorable is your opinion and others don't have to feel that way. I don't live in your world.

I've been quietly following this thread, and for those who see their opinions as opinions, can agree to disagree, and even bring in some other people's opinions, reviews, and grossing numbers, etc. to back up their points, I've enjoyed it, but know that what you are doing is spinning your wheels when you are arguing against a person who believes that their opinion is the truth.

The Backstreet Boys are not my favorite artists (always been more of an NSYNC fan, my gf and I argue about who's better all the time), but I don't get angry over their music, take shots at them or their fans or anything like that. I just say, it's not for me, bump some "Bye, Bye, Bye" and move on. It's not worth it to get angry over something I don't even enjoy.

That's why I always find it funny that people who hate Madden hang around so much in the Madden forums flaming the game and anyone who likes it. What a waste of effort and time.

Exactly...I was going to comment in this thread and then I realized I don't care what Adam Dayton thinks about Kevin Smith movies. Everyone's got their own opinion...he's hardcore into college baseball whereas I can't imagine even caring one iota about it. No one's right or wrong, we just have our own opinions and likes/dislikes

He has went on several diets before but always puts the weight back on. He doesn't seem to care too much about his appearance, but he makes a lot of comments that he's sure he'll die 10 year earlier than he should.

Yep...I personally don't get Quentin Tarentino's stuff...I'm not into his cult. At the same point I realize that I just enjoy Kevin Smith's inside joke type humor, and that it's not really a mass market style. Kevin Smith isn't gonna make something huge like Avatar, but IMO he's funny at what he does (if that's your style of humor).

Yep...I personally don't get Quentin Tarentino's stuff...I'm not into his cult. At the same point I realize that I just enjoy Kevin Smith's inside joke type humor, and that it's not really a mass market style. Kevin Smith isn't gonna make something huge like Avatar, but IMO he's funny at what he does (if that's your style of humor).

I hear you man. But, there is a difference between liking and respecting. I'd imagine you can respect some things Quentin Tarantino does and can recognize his talents on some level. I on the other hand not only can't get into Kevin Smith films, but I think he is not very talented. I think the majority of the discussion consisted of Fresh Tendrils using RT to showcase a point and me debating that point.

It's a unique situation because not only do I dislike Kevin Smith films, he presents himself as a very unlikeable person. Take this incident for example. After clearly being too fat to fly (would you want to be one of the unlucky passenger's sitting next to him) not only did he not take the opportunity of being denied seating as a wakeup call, he proceeded to post 100 twitter updates disparaging the airline like a little baby. I guess the lack of taking personal responsibility is what got him into this mess in the first place.

Not necessarily true. I'm not into Crosby Stills and Nash at all but I see and respect the things they do musically. I'm an aspiring writer myself so I view films more from a critical standpoint than I do from an entertainment one. In nearly every facet I don't respect Kevin Smith as a filmmaker, and from a moral standpoint as a human being.

In any event, he routinely purchased two adjacent seats when flying as a way to prevent such a thing from happening so the fact that he is now acting ignorant of his status is disingenuous.

Not necessarily true. I'm not into Crosby Stills and Nash at all but I see and respect the things they do musically. I'm an aspiring writer myself so I view films more from a critical standpoint than I do from an entertainment one. In nearly every facet I don't respect Kevin Smith as a filmmaker, and from a moral standpoint as a human being.
