Regardless, FOX got paid a few months ago, and I'm sure ABC will too.
Eventually OTA will be gone since they can't make money off of it and even though I doubt it happens, I hope the FCC lifts their protection of local affiliates. If I have to pay for ABC, I want to be able to choose which ABC around the nation I watch on my television provider. I don't want to be forced to pay for my local affiliates. I live in the 126th DMA in the US and I'd much rather watch Seattle's or Portland's affiliates than the garbage that is called local news here. And then pick an East Coast affiliate so I can watch primetime shows 3 hours earlier if I want.

I have to laugh at this quote from Cablevision.

And how much of that $200 million is strictly for ABC? $0.00. Guess what, there are providers all over the nation who are paying network affiliates money to carry their channel.

The current model of network television is not working and providers are going to have to continually pay more and more. Sooner or later we'll see the free network OTA broadcasts pulled off the air as well.
blah, blah, I don't believe either side, there both stubborn for MONEY. Instead of the CEO layoff 300 ABC employees, why don't he donate his pay to keep this little people from going jobless, it's always about the rich getting richer.

that's how capitalism works. This company isn't government owned, or received bailout money. If they want to pay a CEO a stack of millions for doing what they feel is a good job, that's on them and their stockholders.

The outrage over corporate bonuses is laughable really, especially for giant companies that make billions of dollars.

yep and if they don't pay out the big bonus then they won't end up of top talent and will have to settle for lesser quality of people to fill their top jobs
