LMAO: Tony Kornheiser upsets Lance Armstrong with radio show comments

There's a YouTube video with Kornheiser's comments, but I can't get the video to post from my phone.

Washington DC is about to become more bicycle-friendly. Tony Kornheiser is not a fan of this. Last week on his radio show, he said: “I think this is a terrible, terrible idea … when 3 or 4 of these people start riding abreast … I swear to you … it’s all you can do to not run them down! Like Wile E. Coyote! Run ‘em over! Get the hell out of my way … Am I wrong here?”
Kornheiser continued: “Someone’s going to hate me for this … am I wrong? … They don’t share the road, they dominate the road and dare you to run them down … so you tap them … I’m not saying you kill them, just tap them … if you’re not rubbing, you’re not racing, right?”

Lance Armstrong must have been tipped off by a fan, because he reacted angrily last night: “Listening to Tony Kornheiser’s comments/rant on ESPN radio re: cyclists. Disgusting, ignorant, foolish. What a complete f-ing idiot.” And he followed it with another tweet saying, “big mistake.”

What is Armstrong so worked up about? We laughed a few times at Kornheiser’s rant and there’s definitely a kernel of truth to it. To think he was advocating people running down cyclists is silly.

Tony shouldn't live in Toronto anytime soon then. The far left loonies that run City Hall here are destroying the flow of traffic by making bike lanes that are impractical to the extreme.

At least DC isn't as bad as it is here...at least when I was last there um 10 years ago LOL

I agree with Tony. I f'ing hate bike riders. They treat the road as if they are a car, yet they rarely follow the rules; they don't go the speed limit, don't stop at stop lights/signs a majority if the time, and most of them don't use hand signals when turning. If you're going to ride with traffic then you need to be able to keep up with and act like traffic. Everytime I've seen an accident involoving a bicycle, it's ALWAYS been the cyclist's fault.

They need to have much stiffer penalties enforced when these idiot don't follow the rules of the road.

Tony is an entertainer and the humorless Lance's of the world don't see it for what it's worth...... entertaining commentary from a grizzled journalist who typically uses Don Rickles-esque humor in his approach.

On the whole cyclists are nearly as bad as motorcyclists. Honestly I hate when they (motorcyclists) drive between the lines of traffic when it's not going fast enough for them.

I think that's legal in some states...not sure though

I do think Tony needs to learn to censor himself a bit. He says everything that comes in his head, when some thought might be better first. Yeah, we've all been annoyed by a douchebag cyclist, but you don't really go on air and bitch about it like that...

There's a lot of hilarious crap I joke about with my friends but don't say in public, you know?
