When someone is pure evil, and angers you every time you see him or hear of him, then gets eliminated, and you happen to see how he gets eliminated, it may bring a serious satisfaction, but the anger remains. Save your laughter for comedic matters.

I still don't understand how someone who is basically an entertainer has to apologize for what he's said. If that was the case, then 1/2 - 3/4 of the stand-ups would spend most of their careers apologizing.

I agree. If someone is basically hired to say shocking things why should they get in trouble when the anger someone?

If you're going to ride with traffic then you need to be able to keep up with and act like traffic. Everytime I've seen an accident involoving a bicycle, it's ALWAYS been the cyclist's fault.

They need to have much stiffer penalties enforced when these idiot don't follow the rules of the road.
I agree wholeheartedly! Armstrong is a muppet.

As someone that used to commute to work via bicycle, I was a little put off by Kornheiser's comments. I know he's not really saying that drivers should run over cyclists, but it still was a little extreme.

And, for those that said that EVERY accident involving a cyclist is the cyclists' fault, you are wrong. Sure some cyclists don't obey the laws of the road but there are others that do and they still get run down by motorists who are texting while driving, so it goes both ways.

There's nothing wrong with commuting via bicycle. I prefer it to driving, actually.

What's wrong with the sidewalk? Or places that have bike paths?

it was post #4. Have you ever tried to go 40 mph on a bike? Just wondering..

It's illegal in most places to ride on the sidewalk. Some places enforce it, others don't. Not all cities have bikes paths. I'm about to move to New Orleans and commute to grad school via bike and I'll have to share the roadway unfortunately. Why will I commute? parking is ridonkulous downtown and I enjoy the fitness part of it.

and for the record.. Tony is crazy, but everybody knows this. He has fun and is joking around 98% of the time. I watch him everyday on PTI. people shouldn't get their panties in a whirl everytime he says something like this..

Correction, I said every accident I'VE seen involving a bike... not every accident period.

And your last statement there feeds right into my point. If you can't keep up with traffic, then you SHOULD NOT be on the road. That in itself is dangerous. Like I said, if you want to ride on the road, then you need to follow by the same rules that cars do, and that includes the speed limit, the stop signs, the stop lights, and turn signals.

If you can't do it, then get OFF the road.

It's illegal to ride on most sidewalks. Thankfully here in CO, there's tons of bike lanes so there's room on the road for cyclists and motorists; at least in the places where I typically ride. I also Mountain Bike a lot, so if I'm riding that bike, I just throw it on the bike rack and drive to where I'm going to riding trails.

I think this does stem from a bit of the PC movement. Cars are big, bad and evil because they pollute the environment and use fossil fuels and kill people and defenseless animals, increase your carbon (bs) footprint, blah, blah, blah. Biking is environmentally consciencious and promotes good health, yadda, yadda.

So let's share the road. But the problem some drivers have with some cyclists is that some cyclists have taken that to mean a bike = a car. Handle a bike at 40 mph? Of course not. Because they're not equal. So go ahead and cycle all you want. But, don't pretend you're a car.

Congrats for using CAPS. Awesome. It's legal to ride a bike on the road. Period. I obey traffic laws and stay to the side where I can. I choose to not ride on faster/busier highways b/c of people like you who think it's not fair and get irrate when they see a cyclist on the road. Are there some cyclists who don't have a clue how to ride properly.. of course, just like automobile drivers. I will agree with you though and I do not ride on super busy areas and high MPH areas, it really can hold up traffic and cause a mess (as well as it can be a safety hazard). But commuting in a city makes plenty sense.

I ******' cannot stand cyclists...especially on campus. It's like they pick and choose what rules they want to follow. When they come to an intersection, they'll blaze right through it without even a hesitation of a stop, yet when they come to pedestrian crosswalks, they don't even yield to people crossing the street.

Lol you're getting defensive when essentially you're agreeing with me. You're clearly a cyclist who follows the rules, that I have no problem with. It's the ones who don't that cause the problems... And let's face it, stereotypes start somewhere. Hell, my parents are cyclists, but, as you said, they are smart enough to avoid busy intersections, and follow the rules. Again, unfortunately, the majority don't, and for whatever reason think they can do what they want, IE, running through an intersection or not using hand signals when turning. I'm sorry, but for the ones who act like that, I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for them when an accident happens. If they can't be courtious enough to follow the rules and something bad happens as a result... Lesson learned.

I'll say it again though, I don't get irate seeing ALL cyclist, just the one who create the stereotype by acting like arrogant, rule ignoring a-holes.

I was waiting at a stop light yesterday leaving on my way out of campus. I look in my rear-view mirror and see a cyclist coming down the road on the double-yellow line beside my line of cars. For a split second I thought about opening up my door.
