Agreed. He isn't horrible, but it just isn't a strong skill of his.

      Re: My Review

This album is pretty good, it still doesn't feel like classic Em but maybe I'll have to give it a few more listens.

Back in the day Eminem was able to mix awesome flows with awesome subject matter because of what was going on around him. His battles with Kim, his love for Hayley, his issues with his mother etc.

Right now, it seems like Eminem is getting over his relapse, which is great, but I don't think it can fill an album up with songs about it without it feeling like it's dragging on. So now all we are left with is Eminem going in "I'm ill" rapper mode where he throws out some sweet wordplay and flow but the content just isn't very attention grabbing.

The thing I loved about Eminem back in the TES/MMLP days was his unique ability combine two aspects of rap that I love, weave them together, make it sound incredible and come off as effortless all at the same time.

You can definitely tell Em put in work on this album, but like all great musicians at some point in their careers, he is probably heading in to the twilight of his career. That's not to say he doesn't have some of those flashes of previous brilliance still up his sleeve, but probably nowhere close to the heights we've seen him before.

But then again, this is just my opinion.

In honesty, to me, it sounds like a more mature Eminem. And if his further albums are like this, I greatly look forward to them.

I'm definitely excited for this to drop, sounds like the album is great. I will admit though, I do kind of miss some of Em's goofy stuff from his first album, lol. Either way, can't wait!

In my opinion, the best songs from Recovery:

              1. Not Afraid
              2. No Love
              3. Love The Way You Lie
              4. Won't Back Down
              5. You're Never Over

Only songs on Recovery I like are Not Afraid and So Bad. Everything else is weak IMO.

                  Wow, really?

You need to give these songs another listen or two:

-No Love (Em's verse kills it, Lil' Wayne's has grown on me, despite me being an avid *****)
                  -25 To Life
                  -Love the Way You Lie
                  -Almost Famous

All four of those are stronger songs overall than Not Afraid and So Bad...and So Bad is one of my favorites. Space Bound, Cinderella Man, and On Fire are also damn good songs.

I'm surprised anyone who is a fan of Eminem doesn't like this CD. I'd put it third, easily, in his collection, and it still has room to grow on me when I become more familiar with the lyrics and rest of the songs.

Re: Dear Eminem, Please oh please...

In no particular order, I really like...

Won't Back Down (I'm a rock/punk fan first who also likes Eminem, so I dig the riff in the background)
Talkin' To Myself (similar reasons as the one above)
                    Not Afraid
No Love (When Wayne's verse picks up at about 1:30, it's really not that bad)
                    Space Bound
                    Cinderella Man
                    25 to Life
                    Love the Way you Lie
                    You're Never Over

I don't dislike the other tracks yet (except maybe WTP), but the ones above are my favorites.

WTP is really starting to grow on me. I am really starting to like the way Em flows on that track.

Well, I did skip through a few tracks after giving them a minute or so of listening. I thought Love the Way You Lie wasn't bad, but damn, I cannot STAND Lil Wayne, which is mainly why I didn't like No Love.

I was the same way - hell, still am. I cannot stand Lil Wayne, hate every song of his I've ever heard, every song he's featured in, etc. and hated the first part of No Love at first. It's really grown on me, though. When he picks up the pace around the "Put a dick in their mouth so I guess it's **** what they say..." line, the song becomes one of the best on the CD.

It's actually wrong, too...I did like "My Life" where he was with The Game.

Other than that, I can't name one Lil Wayne song/part I've liked other than No Love.
