Another reason why I hate AT&T. The only reason they're doing this is because they have the iPhone and are finally allowing teathering. They want to put limits on users. AT&T is only strong because of the iPhone. They're service is terrible.

you may not like them, but they are the best nationally

Re: AT&T Kills Unlimited Data Plans, Announces Tethering for iPhone

I'm opting in. I thought I used my iPhone a lot (and I do), but apparently I don't even come close to some of you guys or the people AT&T is trying to cap.

I've checked my Total Data Usage over the months since I've had my iPhone and the highest is the first month at 243 MB. I used more data when I had my BlackJack II and that was still well below the 500 MB area.

So, considering I'm at times above or below the $15 200 MB area, the worst that can really happen to me is I end up paying the same price I pay now. Some months I'll pay $15 less.

              Yea, I'm opting in.

              edit:

I actually like AT&T and I think the iPhone works perfectly for my needs so I like it too. What sucks is there isn't a better plan for me. I currently have nearly 2,000 rollover minutes. The only thing I overdo a bit is texting with nearly 1,000 a month.

I wish I had a lower priced option there.

I live in NYC and they're terrible here. On average I get 3-6 drop calls daily. Everyone I know in NYC hates AT&T.

I've never gone over 150 meg in a month so I made the switch to the 200MB plan. Saving 15 bucks a month today outweighed the thought that someday I'll regret it.

Nope, it changed for my mom, and she got saddled with a $100-something bill. And she didn't get a text or whatever informing her of the change. She actually didn't find out until I told her about it when she got her bill.

I have the $10 unlimited plan now for a non-smart phone. I hope when I get the iPhone they let me just upgrade to the unlimited smart phone plan.
