    The Social Network

Movie about the rise of Mark Zuckerberg.

David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club) is directing.

Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland Adventureland) is the lead.

Seems like it might be pretty good.

I'm interested because Fincher is the director. I like the poster and the teaser trailer. I didn't read the book but I'm sure it's like 21 where things were added to make the story more interesting.

this will be pretty interesting. I don't really know much about the rise of facebook so I'm excited to see how it got so powerful

Just read about it on Wiki (and a little more on Zuckerberg). Sounds crazy, should be a neat movie. I'm sure I'll check it out at some point.

I'm going to bump this because this trailer is probably the best trailer I have seen in quite a while. One of the few trailers I have actually looked forward to watching.

As I recall it was restricted to college students. I know the reason it caught on with me and my friends was because it was strictly networking with people you know, and you had to have an .edu email address. No frills, no adding a bunch of people you don't know just to increase your friend count, no fake porn profiles, no horrible custom HTML profile pages (with autoplay background music, ugly animated GIFs, etc), etc. It made it seem a little more mature. Of course some of those things have now found their way to the FB world, but I remember dreading when FB was released to non-college students.

Soon as it opened it's door to the mass public, it went crazy. It was the forbidden fruit of social networking, so everyone joined once they could. Greaaaaaaaaaaat marketing.

Very interested in the music for the film since Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are doing the score.

Meh, I would wager a majority of this film is fictional.

That in itself is somewhat of a buzzkill for me. I'm not really interested in seeing a roided up account of how Facebook started.

I would be much more interested in a documentary that had some integrity and real insight. Unless there's already been one released?

I'm not sure how much of this is actually "fictional." Sure, the situations may be dressed up for Hollywood, but I think the basis is still pretty factual.

Not sure what this guy's motivations/interests are but

Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz called the film a "dramatization of history...it is interesting to see my past rewritten in a way that emphasizes things that didn't matter," he said. According to Moskovitz, "A lot of exciting things happened in 2004, but mostly we just worked a lot and stressed out about things; the version in the trailer seems a lot more exciting, so I'm just going to choose to remember that we drank ourselves silly and had a lot of sex with coeds...The plot of the book/script unabashedly attack [Zuckerberg], but I actually felt like a lot of his positive qualities come out truthfully in the trailer (soundtrack aside). At the end of the day, they cannot help but portray him as the driven, forward-thinking genius that he is."

Either way I wonder how much Hollywood added to the real story.

I assume it'll be along the lines of the movie "21," which fictionalized the "Bringing Down the House" factual book and turned out a lot better than I expected it to.

Plus, with Fincher directing, it's a must-see for me no matter how much of it is fictional.
