    Re: Louie

I'm a huge fan of Louis stand up but this show does nothing for me. Me and my wife both can't get into it any more, it has some funny parts but the show as a whole isn't really funny or entertaining to me.

      Re: Louie

i think its not a show that is laugh out funny...its more amusing that u see him go through things that u can relate to. kind of like curb or seinfeld. anyway, it gets me through the summer hiatus with modern fam and community off the air.

however to fans of the show-is it me or is his stand up bits on the show not funny at all compared to his usual act??

Yeah that is what surprised me. He is one of my favorite stand-up comedians but his stand-up on the show is just ehh.

            Very solid first episode...

The dialog / scenes with the (now ex) GF were cringe worthy and...awesome!

Totally cringe-worthy. Made me hate whoever that was.

I loved the parking sign bit.

That actress looked so familiar but I couldn't place her in anything I had seen, so I looked up her name (Gaby Hoffman) and she played the youngest daughter in Uncle Buck.

Didn't realize it had started back up. I don't have cable so I'll have to look up the new ep. This is the best comedy series on TV IMO.

Tonight's episode was freakin' hilarious. Much better than last week's.

It was all good for me...

But the scene that led to "Sister Christian" kicking in at the club...

                          Awesome...

Lol @ serving the kid raw ground beef in a bowl. That little dude was a pain in the ***, I'm surprised Louie didn't flip out during the bathtub scene. This has been a strange season, but this episode was more along the line of what I expect from the show.

Although the show does have it's funny moments, I do not believe that is it's main focus. I believe Louie is going for something different here. The show is often dark and strange and I think that is what he's shooting for. Of course the comedy is there and is a main part of the show, but overall I think the feel of the show is just dark.

Also the sections where he's doing stand up are from the local comedy club, that's where he tries out new material so it's not always going to bring blockbuster laughs like his DVD's and HBO specials do.

I love the show, because it's new, fresh, and very different from all the other generic crap on TV.
