AMC will add to commuters' headaches worldwide tomorrow with a promotional stunt for the upcoming drama series The Walking Dead involving zombies invading 26 cities. The global outbreaks of hundreds of undead will center in and around major landmarks, including the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, The Prado Museum in Madrid, the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul, the Acropolis in Athens and more. They begin at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong, followed by Istanbul, Madrid, Munich, London, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, New York City and end in Los Angeles, to coincide with the series' Hollywood premiere bash. The Walking Dead premieres on AMC and the Fox International Channels worldwide on Oct. 31.

Oh, man, someone is going to get hurt.

How many people will know what's going on? If I didn't read this and I went to the Brooklyn Bridge , I would have never connected this to The Walking Dead. Actually, I'd probably just think it was a Halloween thing.

Lets hope that no-one gets hurt and they make it known that it is an "event".

There are some "Zombie Apocalypse" nuts out there that are frothing for this to be reality one day!

Minor spoilers in the link provided. Nothing I am disappointed about, or sad about, knowing now as it all seems pretty straight-forward assumption wise, but figured I'd warn you now.

Don't know if anyone has seen this review/article yet, as I've never heard of the site and it looks pretty...trashy, but if the article is to be believed:

Kirkman reportedly has close to 250 issues planned for the series -- it's not even on issue 100 yet -- and Hurd said Kirkman wants to rival 'The Simpsons' in terms of show seasons..
                        ...um, what?

Love that article. It says everything I tell people when I defend why I want to work in television over film.

Most people don't get it. They don't have to, I guess. Walking Dead sounds like my type of series.

I don't think I could possibly be angrier with Time Warner. The one show I am looking forward to this fall, and guess what? The AMC HD feed refuses to come in. Every other HD channel I have is coming in, but nope, not AMC. I'll watch it in regular def and still love it, but seriously, how does this even happen? I try to go to the channel, and it just sits there, saying channel will be available soon. Well, thirty minutes later of it just sitting there, it ain't coming in.
