    Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare

Wow. That's all I can say.

Bought the CD on iTunes and it might be my favorite album of all time. It is the perfect mix between new age metal/hard rock and Metallica.

I absolutely cannot stop listening to it.

I don't like their vocalist at all.

I know plenty of people that are crazy about them, though.

It's really a unique voice that you either love or hate from my experience. To me, it's a good mix of yelling/screaming and actual vocals.

I will check this out, wasn't too keen on some of their earlier stuff. I found out about another Metal band last weekend called Firewind......those guys are good. Gus G is their guitarist who is playing with Ozzy right now.

I may check it out. They lost me with the release of City of Evil due to the new vocals & music stylings but they've been kicking around for some time and might as well take a listen. Sucks they lost their drummer though because the guy was absolutely sick.

Yes! Thank you! This album is still in rotation on my playlists & mp3 players. I thought that album was going to be the launch of something big, they were part Metallica, part Pantera but instead they went GNR with City of Evil and sold-up*.

*Don't want to say sell-out because they're still considered a great band.

I'm going to say don't pick this up then.

There is one particular song that is going to drive you up the wall if you don't like GNR.

I still love the cd though. I think it's better than City of Evil, JMHO.

Well.... IMO thats not much of a stretch. How would you compare it to their self titled album? More of the same? I felt it was a step in the right direction after City of Evil but not must listen to material

IMO, this is their best song on the album, so listen to it if you want to know.

In the same boat as you. Used to be a big fan of these guys when their first two albums dropped. City of Evil annoyed me, although there was some sweet guitar sections on that album. Didn't care enough to buy their last album but heard a couple of songs off of it and I couldn't stand it.

liking it so far. Mike Portnoy sounds great. Interesting: This album took over Em's Recovery for top spot on the Billboard charts. That says a lot for where metal is right now.
