The return of Michael Chiklis (The Shield) to TV.

Chiklis plays the head of a family who gain special powers after their plane crash into the Amazon River. It obviously has a little Fantastic Four in it. Julie Benz of Dexter fame will play his wife.

Julie Benz as Stephanie Powell – a scientist with super speed
Kay Panabaker as Daphne Powell – a teenager with telepathy
Jimmy Bennett as JJ Powell – a teenager with vast intelligence

I like that Chicklis is a police artist and not a macho cop type.

I just saw this at the "pre previews" in the movie theater yesterday afternoon. Never heard of it before then.

My girlfriend said the same exact thing. I'm very intrigued, looks like it could be a cool show...worth checking out for me at least.

I like the distribution of the powers and that Chiklis has access to the police department but isn't really a cop "per say". I think Julie Benz as a scientist will interact well with her Brainiac son. I don't know what to think of the daughter's telepathy abilities.

Chicklis's powers are virtually identical to that of the THING, the character he portrayed in the FF movies. I guess we will have to see what level of invulnerability and super strength the writers give him. Overall a very powerful team. It will be interesting to see how they are challenged.

I think that might be the initial reaction of some. I like the actors (Stephen Collins of 7th Heaven is also a series regular, playing Julie Benz's boss) and the promising concept too much not to give this a chance. It won't be a quick hook, either. I almost gave up on Justified early and I'm glad I didn't.

Shield fans might not like Chicklis in a role like this. I think it's great. He was a huge Marvel comic book fan growing up and I'm sure it was hard for him to resist the part. I'm sure he's well compensated too.

I like the whole "family falling apart" aspect, and I really wasn't expecting
