The new Dream Theater album is great: A View From The Top Of The World.
Here's track one: The Alien and as an added bonus you get to be amazed as you watch Mike Mangini play it , this guy's drumming skills are ridiculous.

I’m listening to my favorite soundtrack from the series "Big Little Lie". Cold Little Heart - Michael Kiwanuka. I just love this song. When I hear it, I immediately relax, disconnect from the outside world and are morally transported to the coast of Australia. I don't know how it works, before that no soundtrack from the movie or series affected me like that. Sometimes I want to watch this series again just because every series starts with this song.

edit: for some reason I thought of the song "third rock from the sun" by Joe Diffie as my example as the last time I head banged, and this dude looked so much like Joe Exotic it freaked me out

As odd as it may seem to have a Christmas song with the backdrop of the great war, Sabaton nailed it. TBH I think it perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas due to that setting.

Still impossible to believe that 1 Christmas Eve in 1914, with the world at war, enemy soldiers came together for 1 day to celebrate Christmas.

Gave some Novembers Doom a spin the other day. I'm normally not a fan of the cookie monster vocal style ,but these guys mix it up enough to work for me. Plus their music is so damn heavy I love it.
