Why does any company try to smear a competitor with every little ticky-tack thing they can?

    Seriously, stop watching commercials.

It seemed every person I talked to told me something different so that immediately turns me off...if you're giving me issues at the get-go, Lord knows what it would be like for the duration of the term.

Dish can provide all 3 for $120 per month. My biggest gripe was MLB Network which the lady said while they're having a contract dispute, she can add the channel for free if I ask...I find that kindly odd but okay, I'll take it.

They're coming Saturday morning to set it all up so we'll see. If I'm not mistakened there wil be only 1 box to handle all 4 TVs in my house and installation is free compared to $20 w/DTV. I've got the 200 channel package with almost every sports channel added except for MLB Extra Innings and NFL Ticket which means nothing anyways. I really hope they offer PeachTree TV so I can watch my Braves game like I do currently on cable but that might be a sacrifice I'll have to take.

Um what??? Do I need to call Dish and ask them nicely, and they will give me MLB Network.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

        Re: DIRECTV or Dish?

When it comes to Comcast, Dish, Direct TV, etc......quality of service depends on the area. That is one thing I have noticed over the past 15 years. I lived in a lot of places and I was always thought it was funny how one can work perfectly in one area, then you move and it suddenly turns crappy in another area, but yet it is the same company.

Luckily the last 3 places I lived in Comcast has been good. The dish companies however....worked good when I lived in less populated flat places, but when I lived in Chicago they were charging way too much money. And northwest Indiana the signal went out way too many times.

            Re: DIRECTV or Dish?

#1 is true, but not all people will need it. You can read the link below about it. You did need 2 if you lived in the South and wanted HD. They basically are broadcasting the same channels on 2 satellites, which is expensive as they could have more channels.

#3 is true for how Dish sells most of their systems. They for some reason sell people on being able to send the UHF signal from the 1 receiver to a 2nd TV in SD. I guess maybe because their receiver fees are so high.

I know years ago when I had Dish Network, I had 2 dishes. One was for local channels and the other was for all the other channels. This was about 4 years ago though when I lived in northwest Indiana just outside of Chicago.

I've yet to see these commercials.

I had everything installed today and it's not bad. I have only 1 dish mounted outside (on the ground...I'm not putting that thing on the roof); the previous comment about possibly getting MLBN was false, the lady didn't know what she was talking about.

Otherwise, everything is pretty gravy. I'm kind of excited about possibly being able to see various baseball games, given they aren't blacked out to far-away viewers. The service tech that came out to install everything was super nice and really ensured everything was perfect...I was impressed immensly.

What package do you have and how much do you have to pay? I would love to switch to DirectTV, but I'm afraid of that two year commitment. If I can use some leverage to get free stuff from Comcast then all the better.

                      Dish Network, not DirecTV.

I have the top 200 plus every sports channel not including NFL Ticket / MLB Extra Innings plus a DVR that works 2 TVs (Living room & master bedroom). I kindly wanted the HBO/Cinemax/Starz channels for the movies but didn't want that midnight porn to possibly be viewed at my house by the family...it's $70 for the TV and $50 for the Phone/Internet.

You do know Dish Network like any other cable provider or dish provider has parental controls right ????? You could easily lock out programs by rating. Far as sports games go, unless they changed it since I had it years ago, the only games you going to see is in your area.

All the games outside your area going to be blacked out. I had that same package years ago,, I had about a dozen or 2 dozen sports channels. I was PUMPED, however only 3 or 4 channels actually worked. All the others were blacked out. Which to me was a waste of money if I couldn't watch games outside of my area.

You get all the sports channels, but they are blacked out during Pro games. You will get to see college games though, so its great during football and basketball season.

Well that is a slight improvement then when I had it, because back then they even blacked out college games.

I don't care...I was in that kind of stuff in my past, I don't want the temptation.

I use to have Directv when I was stationed in New Orleans. I like them but they had horrible customer service so I stick with cable companies now.
