    Re: Conan

I mean, Conan's monologues have always been hilarious because of cheese, but I think he focuses way too much time on being stupid and interacting with the crowd and stuff.

I also can't wait to get into the flow of new skits. NBC holding so many of the trademarks or whatever has to be tough to overcome for the writers.

I think that's the biggest reason why it's been a bit of a struggle for him lately.

I've always thought his monologues were the weakest part of the show, but his skits were always hilarious. So far, his skits have been hit or miss but I think it's attributed to him getting used to his new digs and the writer's just coming up short lately since all of their old material is copyrighted by NBC.

        Re: Conan

I thought when they first started up that they'd go with their same skits and just change things slightly.

        Masturbating Bear becomes Self-Pleasuring Panda.

        Things like that.

But that's not what's ended up happening.

I agree with a lot of the previous post. Seems like he breaks his 1920's accent every show.

BTW I hate Andy Ricter. Is there anyone less funny than him? I wonder how much influence he has on things.

How much does NBC own? I am not able to watch every night(I know record them all), but I have yet to see In a Year 3000. I know they don't want to re-use everything, but some of the stuff are classics.

They own everything as far as I am concerned. Any characters, recurring skits, etc.

They could always re-brand the same thing though, Letterman did it on CBS.

Gotta disagree on Andy though, I love him.

Man, I've never thought Conan's monologues were all that great. Those were always the weakest part of the show to me since he started, well aside from obscure musical guests. They got a little better, but never to the point of hilarity.

I always liked the skits, the interaction with the guests, Triumph...that stuff. That's what kept me as a fan. Seems like the same old Conan to me, minus those familiar skits and characters. I'm liking it.

                  Re: Conan

episode was awesome...impressed with 50 Cent's interview....loved how they went to break when things got risque, reminded me of Cryer talking about Sheen a few weeks ago. I'm also a huge Chris Elliott fan...I think he's damn funny.

I love Andy Richter. Always have. Dude's hilarious.

I would love for them to start doing some on-site skits (like the baseball, Star Wars) and some of the at-the-desk stuff like Celebrity Survey....I don't know. There's gotta be a way to get around NBC's crap. Remember when they would have Conan and Andy At The Movies? Those were great. And I can't imagine how NBC would own the rights to a staredown.

                    I miss Celebrity Survey!!

I still remember them doing it on the old Late Night show and laughing hysterically when they showed a picture of MC Hammer with "The best thing about the 90's was.......hot food."

I don't know why but I always remembered that.

The reaction Seth MacFarlane gave where he looked up in the air and took a deep breath was literally the same one I did a second before they cut to that.

Andy Roddick, all I can do is....

Haha remember in the first few weeks of this show we joked about how it seemed that every woman on the show had to show a lot of leg?

I wish that rule was rule for tonight haha. How does someone that attractive wear an outfit like that on the show?

Anyways, other than Decker's questionable outfit, enjoyable show. Love that segment were Andy tells the news, and Seth was entertaining as always.
