Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
I'm not sure how much Ted actually knew about her. She wasn't around very long before she went to Germany.
I know it's a long shot, but I have a hard time believ..............
Ugh. Dammit.
I'm literally thinking about reasons she could be the Mom as I type this, and he would've noticed if Victoria was at the St. Patrick's Day Party during season 3 that he says the mom/his wife was at. So, in thinking of reasons to support my argument, I killed it.

Because the journey will end before we even get the conclusion. That's what I'm worried about. The show seems to not have any clue who the mother is either.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
Great episode this week, I finally got to watch it last night.Personally, I'd feel cheated if we don't get to know the woman Ted marries and find out exactly why she's so special.
And I still to this day think it's Victoria. Victoria will have been living with Rachel Bilson after she got back from Germany, Ted will go on and on about how it's fate, they'll give it another shot and they'll live happily ever after.
And dont worry there is no way they wont let us know who the mother is on the series finale.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

That and the mom was in the Economics class Ted was in by mistake on his 1st day of teaching on the season 5 opening episode, so they would've seen each other then too.I'm not sure how much Ted actually knew about her. She wasn't around very long before she went to Germany.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
I don't even go by all those old clues anymore. They would have worked if the show was going to be over within a couple years, but at this point they're painted themselves into a corner. Plus, this show has a lot of continuity errors and is very cartoonish now with its characters.
I'm not complaining too much about that since all sitcoms go through that once they've been on for more than a couple years. But I am saying that I'm not expecting all those old clues to pan out, and when they don't, I won't be dissapointed in that either.
Side note, I'm on the side of the people who want to know the mother. I don't want to know the mother on the last episode where he runs into her, and he says, this is how I met her. I don't care if we don't know exactly who she is, but I want to see their relationship grow before the show's over. So I don't care if Zoey is the mother and we see them date, but only on the series finale does he tell the kids that she's the mom. I just don't want him to meet a new girl played by some new actress like Minka Kelly on the last episode and her be the mother. My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
I think the clues have worked pretty well.
Remember when Robin & Ted broke up? Ted said she would go on to live in Argentina, Moscow, and Japan. 2 seasons later, she moves to Japan. They do an outstanding job I think with the foreshadowing. I think they have the entire series mapped out to an extent.Twitter

Agreed. I don't see the continuity argument at all. I've watch through the series multiple times and they seem to follow up with most of their references to the past or future.I think the clues have worked pretty well.

I will agree that the characters have become very cartoonish, especially Robin.

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
Maybe the cartoonish thing has skewed my view on their continuity errors. It's just that with the reruns being on so much, I noticed in a couple episodes that Marshall can't fight, then all of a sudden he's an amazing fighter. Then Barney can't drive and without notice he's driving all over the place.
Not a big deal at all, but I put some of the mother stuff, not all, into that same criteria where it's not a big deal if it turns out be not true. Like where she was at the same bar as him, it was mentioned just barely at the end of the episode (I might be off on that since the last time I saw that episode was the week it aired for the first time on dvr). Other stuff like the umbrella is important though since they've mentioned it countless times. My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
The only continuity error I've noticed that I can recall is in one of the early season 1 episodes Ted says that his sister is married and has children. Unless it's been mentioned that he had more than 1 sister and I've missed that. As far as Barney being able to drive, that episode was 1 or 2 seasons later so it's not that big of a stretch that he learned to drive.
Oh and I'm in the camp who couldn't care less about finding out who the mother is. That's the least important story of the show to me and if we don't find out until the final 5 seconds of the finale, I'd be completely ok with that.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
The rest of the show is not captivating or funny enough to not care about the mother, in my opinion. Robin doesn't have much depth, Barney is funny but worthless, and Marshall and Lily are already married.Comment

Re: How I Met Your Mother: Season 6
I wouldn't go that far but I will say that when not focusing on the mother, I don't like the show as much as before. All of these characters are great side characters. Barney used to be one of the best characters on tv until he got too much screen time. They just don't know what to do with Robin anymore and she's just an extra at this point. Marshall and Lily were much better when they were opposite Ted's random relationship with a long term girlfriend. My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment
