I would hate it if its Barney/Robin's wedding. Oil and water, both as characters and on-screen chemistry.

It's not Barney and Robin. I find that too obvious. They purposely left them out of the scene to build this sort of talk, but still, way too obvious.

Then again, that could be the whole point.

Maybe it's Cindy and the friend she made out with.

They said they get married. It would make sense that Cindy's roommate (who Ted said was the mother) would be at her wedding. And Cindy just told Ted that he helped her in life. Isn't it possible that she would see him as a potential Best Man for opening her eyes and finding the person/women she loved?

That's my guess. Cindy and the friend.

They only said they adopted a child, not that they got married (and they've poked at NY not having gay marriage before).

Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

Maybe the guy, I forget his name, doesn't have any real friends and so he picks Ted as his best man.
Stella was important because her husband gave him the teaching job

            To me, it's Robin's marriage.

Oh yea, I forgot about that. With that being the case, there's no way it has anything to do with Stella.

This episode was really, really bad.

I was hoping they would redeem it at the end with something crazy like Ted's dad or stepdad being Barney's father but instead it was a "serious" episode without any story advancement.

I had to double-check several times to make sure I was watching Episode: 602. What happened with everything from last week? This almost felt like they were trying a new writer.

Way too early in the season to throw an episode like this in. Made little sense.

didn't make much sense story-wise, but at least it was funny.

I thought it was a very funny episode, you need to remember this is a comedy.
This aint Lost or 24 where every episode needs to continue the story.
I know what you are going to say, "The show is called how I met your mother, they need to show us how he met their mother". And I disagree as long as I am entertained and the show is funny it does its job as a comedy. They showed a very funny episode about Barney's family end of story. Barney singing with his brother and his brothers father was awesome!

Funny it was. Barney hitting that deep note as his brother and his brother's father sang had me rolling.

"You're too good. It would be unfair to the other players."

Barney's eyes opening and thinking his brother's father was his and his comments after. “I always thought I was a light skinned white guy. Turns out I’m a really, really, light skinned black guy!"
