As long as it's not just Kate McKinnon playing him, I'm alright with whatever.

Will Forte probably would've been great playing him, but obviously that's not realistic now.

Taran Killam would've been ideal imo. Colin Jost doesn't really do skits, but he has the best resemblance on the current cast. I think any one of Beck Bennett, Mikey Day, or Alex Moffat could do it. They might go with a guest star as well...Adam Driver makes a lot of sense as tonight's host.

Yeah, Taran would probably do it well too - I'm guessing they have Beck do it. Not the best likeness, but I think he could nail the tone pretty well. I see Mikey or Alex more as senators in a sketch than anything else...then they can have Kate as Lindsey Graham or something.

Just hoping they don't open with Baldwin doing the Trump press conference Q&A. There's humor in those, but they've done a million variations of that and I think there's more that could be pulled from doing a Kavanaugh sketch.

I have not watched SNL is like 20 years because it just is not good any more mad tv was better during the years it was on but than they got rid of the best actors and than like a year later the show went of air. Has SNL gotten any better or is it still crap?

I have not watched SNL is like 20 years because it just is not good any more mad tv was better during the years it was on but than they got rid of the best actors and than like a year later the show went of air. Has SNL gotten any better or is it still crap?

Of course there's always some subjectivity to it. So in this case you can go by those who have watched it over a span of casts. I was around for the first group and of course the claim to fame was how unique and edgy it was out of the gate.... especially when you have George Carlin hosting the first show. But as raw and good as that was I don't think any overall cast has outdone the Carvey - Myers - Nealand - Hartman (my all-time fave) - Lovitz ensemble.

See, I think she's a bit of an SNL "throwback" if you can have such a thing. Her Bieber imitation, the alien abduction interviews... she's done some funny stuff.

I think she's super talented, but she tends to do the same stuff a lot. How much Jeff Sessions humor can one really tolerate, lol? In some ways, she's a weaker Kristen Wiig. There are some skits that are perfect for McKinnon, though, like those awkward makeout seshs when Keenan is trying to close up the bar. I wonder how many more years she's going to remain on the cast..

If I had a nickel for every time someone insisted SNL isn't what it was back when, I'd have a **** ton of cash. I think each era has had its strengths and weaknesses, but rarely do I find the show completely unfunny--usually there is a skit or two on each episode (or the Weekend Update segment) that scratches the itch.
