I pay CV 220 a month now for the triple play. The 2 year promotion with FIOS is LOCKED@ $150.00 a month(between 180-200 after the promotion)this includes the Multi-Room DVR(which CV doesn't even offer) & much faster Internet, Showtime & HBO. A back-up battery pack in case I lose electrical power good for 8 hours which allows me to still use my phone(CV again has no such service)

Losing MSG in HD & a couple of other channels isn't a big deal when the product offered seems better. Everyone I know that has FIOS loves it. They say the picture quality is amazing, the internet is blazing fast & the phone calls quality is very good.

All those things that are important to me so we'll see

I guess not bad, but the n o MSG will hurt

Since Netflix I dumped all the premium channels and its about 150 for the triple play and 2 boxes. And I just got 3 more boxes free for a year so I'm a happy camper right now.
I blame Fox more for this mess. Channle 9? Does anyone even watch that?
I kept my roof antenna up just in case. I found that I can get Fox and 9, so I'm not missing anything.

Ahh I see the breakdown. Damn 4 boxes...

Yeah you'll lose msg hd but damn I'd make the switch too. Just beware of the price after the locked in time period...it WILL jump. This is from personal experience...

For anyone thinking about going with Satellite, but you've been told no dishes are allowed, go search for OTARD. Its a set of rules that basically say it is illegal for HOA, landlords, etc from keeping you from having a dish on your "owned/rented area". There are stipulations about common areas. It trumps all other local laws, contracts, HOA agreements, etc.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I would have to put the dish on the rooftop for it to pick up a signal.

my friend said his electric bill went up $10 per month after getting FIOS due to that huge generator looking box that they set up when its installed. so heads up for that possibility if you make the switch

Just read up on that, and it says that the rule only covers balconies and patios, and not the roof of an apartment building.
