    Re: Black Friday 2010

One hour and 10 minutes standing in cold 5 below wind chills at BB with our 12 yr old. We were dressed for it, but not dressed for it just standing in the cold wind. He wanted to go because he though WOW was on sale for $20.00. Wrong, just at the Blizzard store.

One hour and 10 minutes outside in the freezing cold and only 10 minutes in the store. Wife and mom wanted the Nook($99.00), niece wanted an mp3 FM transmitter for her car,(25 bucks) and Bon Jovi's greatest hit CD for 7 bucks.

If you got what you wanted, it's was worth the wait, but we were very cold. Our son said he wouldn't do it again unles it's something he wanted. Dominoes came out and delivered free pizzas, but didn't hit our section. No loss there. BB was very good at letting you know where the items were located and they let in about 30 people at a time, which was good too.

Are there any 360 controllers on sale? I have an old one that doesn't work very well and my newest one (which isn't new at all) two of the buttons keep getting stuck.

I did black friday online the past 2 years, so this was first time back. I do not remember the checkout lines being THAT freakin' long. Found something I wanted in Kohl's and Target but there was no way I was gonna wait an hour in line to pay. They had 1 super long line and would funnel people to the few registers they had open.

I'll give Walmart credit as they had almost every register manned and separate lines for each to make it easier getting out.

The local Walmart opened up well before midnight. I pulled up at 11:40PM and people were already coming out with stuff.

Oh yeah, the Walmart associate in charge of the $59 blu ray players had a Louisville slugger on hand in plain view. Who does that? Guess he wasn't gonna take any foolishness.

I went to walmart at about 7:00 and got The Dark Knight and Batman Begins Blu-Ray. Couldn't find any of the $10 games.

That 26" TV I got at Target on Monday for 209.00 was 299.99 today! Score!
Although I did see a samsung 32" at wally world for 199.99 or something. Didn't bite though. My daughters ET center isn't big anough to hold it anyway. meh.

I laugh at all of the horror stories of larger cities. Living in Maine, it's nothing like that. Hit up Walmart with the wife around 3am, found everything we needed (like 30 some odd things, basically finished Christmas shopping), and we were out by 4:45. Most of it was price matched stuff. I managed to grab season 1 of True Blood on Blu Ray for myself at $22 (price matched to Best Buy). Everything else was for family or the kids.

Target on the other hand was a little nuts, although it's the only one in the area. The line literally went around the inside of the store to the checkouts.

Struck out at Fry's for the 42" LG LED HDTV. Not surprised since the tents were up when I drove by at nine the night before.

Success at Gamestop with my PS3 God of War Bundle (and my friend even got his hands on a refurbished 60GB model).

Success at Sears for a 40" Samsung LCD that was Plan B after Fry's failed.

And finally, success at Target for acquiring two 2TB Western Digital Desktop Drives.

Also, Amazon has been taking my money all week long >_<. At some point next week I expect Infamous, Demon's Souls, Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition, and Resonance of Fate. May grab Ratchet and Clank for $10 when it hits.

That Walmart associate was gangster for having a baseball bat in plain view. But yeah people alway mob the blu ray players. Little do they know those $69 blu ray players are obsolete and if you want to make it wireless you have to buy a $85 attachment for it.

Got Madden at Wal-Mart last night with my cousin. Got NFS:HP earlier yesterday at KMart. Thanks again for the tip Chef I picked up the last copy .

But honestly I understand why they don't organize most of the Wal-Marts in the heavier populated areas. Most people who shop there on regular days don't know how keep things organized then, so on a day when its supposed to be hectic there really is no point. This year the one I go to had more organization and was worse than last year imo.

Blzer not sure if you're still looking for it, but that Logitech Harmony 650 remote you were talking about earlier is on sale now for $49.99 on amazon's black friday lightning deal.

Edit: Sorry nevermind I just saw that it was 100% claimed. Oh well, I hope you either picked it up, or got it elsewhere for cheaper.

Woke up at 730 am to pick up the Lost Complete Series blu ray lightning deal on amaozn for $120. Went to target around 8 am looking to get one of the 2TB externals for $69 but they were all out. Strolled over to radioshack and picked up a Dualshock 3 for $35. Went to pick up some clothes, alot of stores were running 50% off everything in the store. Came home and picked up the 2TB external on amazon for $89. All in all not a bad day. Still have to get a kindle and do the rest of my xmas shopping, these were all gift for myself lol.
