The Sony isn’t better for gaming. It lacks HDMI 2.1. https://youtu.be/isrM0oksvkY

Look how bad the motion is for the Vizio lol

It's all about what makes you happy. It sounds like you really want the Vizio so go for it.

If you’re going to get an oled why go through all these hoops just to save $300. I wouldn’t go anywhere near them VIZIO OLEDs right now. Just save up a little more and get the LG oled especially if you’re getting it for gaming.

For the most part I am enjoying my new LG OLED but what I’m having issues with is everything seems dark/flat colors on games that are non hdr. PGA Tour 2K21 is an example. Madden/NBA 2K/TLOUS2 all look amazing.

Other than the above mentioned the tv has been amazing.

Flight, Peak Brightness, and ABL (Auto Brightness Limiting) are 2 issues you get when going OLED. Peak brightness will always be lower than an LCD due to the technology. It's something you'll get use to with more viewing.

Also remember HDR looks brighter due to the highlighting it's does. SDR doesn't offer that highlighting which is why the picture may look more muted.

ABL has gotten better over the years, but still exist. It's something the panels have built in to help with possible burn-in issues.

These are the trade offs you get for perfect blacks and infinite contrast levels that OLED offers which is why OLED PQ looks amazing

So I finally got my Sony 43” XBR 800H last week from PC Richards. Very nice TV and I’ve had zero complaints so far. Looks great with the PS4 Pro.

Thanks for the information. My cave is already dark. I just repainted last week to a lighter color to help. I’m one who like colors that pop. Don’t get me wrong the tv looks really good it’s just colors seem dim. This tv also checked all the boxes when it came to the next gen systems. I just didn’t see any other options that checked all the boxes.

Rewatching GOT with the wife and now are watching "The Long Night" in HDR and in Atmos on our SONY A8G.

Simply stunning.... What a visual and audio spectacle! Totally forgot how amazing an episode that was. What an television achievement!

I pretty much strictly buy Sony. So keeping that in mind, what are the recommendations for a 65" where gaming on the new xbox will be done as well as tv. Money really isn't a huge concern as long as we are talking under 5k or so. Thoughts?

FV, we're just trying to help you out. At the end of the day, you buy what makes you happy.

1 year ago I brought a SONY A8G OLED. I could have went with the LG, but the SONY is what I wanted. Yeah my A8G doesn't offer HDMI 2.0 and has more input lag than the LG, but the Sony offers better motion and video processing which is more important to me.

Again, don't take it personal. Right now the Vizio has some quality issues. Here's the owners thread from the AVS Forum talking about some of the quality issues. As well as some the things the Vizio does well

It's really not an LG fan club. It's just that their OLED's are so good in an all around respect.

And we aren't hating on Vizio or your opinions, we are just trying to make you aware that there are a lot of QA issues with it right now. And this is probably normal since it's new for them. I've always tried to adhere to the rule of don't buy the first generation of anything. But you seem to really want the Vizio, so just get it. Who cares what we say. I'm being serious. Get what you want.

When I was in the market for a new TV a couple years ago, I was recommended a lot of TV's and OLED was the top recommendation, but it was out of my price range. I was told to get this and that. I just took those into consideration. Looked at a ton of reviews for them, and settled on the Sony X900F.

Scott said it was good, and I trust his opinion since he does this for a living. And now, two years later, I still love this TV. I still marvel at the picture for different things. Sure, it's no an OLED, it's FALD, but the closest thing you can get to OLED. Everything from HDR gaming to HDR movies look great. But I am definitely going OLED for my next one. I like Sony a lot so may go with them over LG. It's all about what you like and are comfortable with.

LG fan club? My main TV is a Sony OLED. For gaming, LG OLED is the best option. Do what you want though. Don’t want an OLED, do the 900H, only other TV that has all 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs, but hey, what do I know.
