I will piggy back this and say...if you do get this...definitely do the extended warranty man. Bought mine April of last year and noticed the purple patches of doom on the right side of my screen. Picture is top notch, craftsmanship is garbage. I took care of this set like it was rare fire coral in a sense it was never touched, moved, or man handled. So, I am now set hunting which is dumb for a year of ownership. Looking at an LG OLED, SONY, or Vizio P series quantum. I had a 65” ks8000 so I will stick to same size in other brands. FWIW, it seems a ton of Samsung products, while initially great, suck at craftsmanship and just go to crap with no motivation to fix it from Samsung. Lesson learned. Tons of forums about said purple patch too so feel free to “trust but verify” before purchase my friends.

LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

The banding and yellowish tint on my LG OLED 65B7 has gotten worse over time. I purchased it a year ago with the extended warranty, so I’m thinking of returning it and paying the difference to upgrade to the C8. The company I purchased it from says that it would be possible to do so.

My question. Since my warranty has two more years left on it, should I wait for the next iteration or just go ahead with the C8? The C8 seems to have improved game HDR, but I’m hearing that the next one may be leaps and bounds better.

            Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As a former owner of the B7A I sold it and got the c8 as it offers better brightness but in game hdr the tv does 27ms of input lag as oppose to 21 in sdr. Rtings claims is a bug that has not been fixed by LG

I would stick with the B7A till March when the new models come out

In the market for a new TV. Probably 55”. Not really for gaming just DirecTV/Netflix. Would the TCL be a good choice? I’ve seen good reviews and it’s only like $350.

What would be a good option for 55" for under $1000?

Samsung NU8000, currently on sale for $749.99. Can't beat that. You can even get the 65" for $999.99.

Thank you! This is what I needed to hear. I also did a bit more research on AVForums and I noticed quite a few people having even more issues with the C8; which is very unfortunate, especially at that price tag.

I’m sure the new model will be more expensive but hopefully some of the major OLED issues get resolved.

Only issues I’ve seen was burn in. Those were Amazon reviews.
