Is this the movie that's supposed to be based off of the Battleship game?

If so...this looks nothing like what I thought it would. That's a very good thing.

If so...this looks nothing like what I thought it would. That's a very good thing.

Pretty sure it's based off the Battle of Los Angeles "alien" incident from 1942.

Yeah, after some research they're two completely different movies.

In that case, this movie looks pretty good for the genre its in based off that quick trailer and I still expect the Battleship movie to be ****ing terrible.

WOW!

It looks like a war movie which is interesting because an alien invasion movie that's basically a war film would be a great idea. I would love it if it was kinda done in a cynical manner and somber manner like the way many Vietnam war movies are done where in the end the "good guys" end up losing.

Of course, that probably won't happen and we'll get the happy ending with Humanity somehow beating a civilization that was around before our world was.

Can't wait for this. Comes out the 11th. I hope it's at least decent. Was hyped for skyline, but still haven't seen it after the terrible reviews. Hasn't been a really good all out alien war movie in a while(district 9 not all out war).
