Brothers sounds like their most produced album (even with Danger Mouse producing Attack & Release) as it, above all things, is a throw back to the best music from the 50s and 60s.
Thanks! iTunes just upped their previews to 90 seconds, so I got to listen to a good portion of the album! I think I'm gonna purchase. I like Howlin' For You and Everlasting Light!

I didn't buy too many new albums this year. The only ones (so far) I found myself listening to all the way through are:

        1) Filter - The Trouble with Angels
        2) Guster - Easy Wonderful

Cool experience I had w Everlasting Light...

Was listening to that song and coincidentally watching a highlights video of Deron Williams crossing people over and the song + the video were like in-sync. Plus the song just gave a cool aura to the highlight reel. This song would make for good use with a sports highlight reel.

            1. Deftones/Diamond Eyes
            2. The Sword/Warp Riders
            3. 10 Years/Feeding the Wolves

That's all I really listened too because I discovered bands from back in the day that took up my time.

I have another couple entries for your consideration.

The Black Angels - Phosphene Dream

And also The Soft Pack - The Soft Pack

I really didn't buy many this year, but these two I like front to back. I'm an album guy, so I'm much more impressed by an overall effort than a great single.

                  1. Eminem - Recovery
                  2. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
                  3. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot
                  4. B.o.B - The Adventures of Bobby Ray
                  5. Nas & Damian Marley - Distant Relatives
Revised list after listening to some more albums:

                  1. Eminem - Recovery
                  2. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
                  3. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot
                  4. J. Cole - Friday Night Lights
                  5. The Roots - How I Got Over
                  6. B.o.B - The Adventures of Bobby Ray
                  7. Nas & Damian Marley - Distant Relatives
                  8. Drake - Thank Me Later
                  9. KiD CuDi - Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager
                  10. Toss up between Rick Ross - Teflon Don and Lloyd Banks - Hunger for More 2. I'd probably give the edge to HFM 2 if I had to choose.

The Roots' album is REALLY good IMO. Loving it.

I also included Friday Night Lights because it might as well be an album, lol.

Kinda of a down year for music IMO. That said, here's what I did like:

                    1. The Deftones - Diamond Eyes (and nothing else this year even comes close)
                    2. Far - At Night We Live
                    3. The Roots - How I Got Over
                    4. Senses Fail - The Fire
                    5. Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele
                    6. Bad Religion - The Dissent of Man
                    7. Ben Folds & Nick Hornby - Lonely Avenue
                    8. The Boxer Rebellion - Union
                    9. Foxy Shazam - Foxy Shazam
                    10. Middle Class Rut - No Name, No Color

Boxer Rebellion - Union came out in January of 2009.

                      Great album nonetheless.

Did they re-release it? My liner notes say 2010.

I picked it up off of iTunes right after it came out. They don't have a record label, so that's probably why there is confusion.

Gotcha. Wasn't doubting you. Just thought it was weird. I know they do reissues all the time now, especially with how fast bands hop labels these days.

                              Alter Bridge - AB3

I honestly can't think of any other albums that came out in 2010 I bought this year. AB3 is a modern rock classic however, right up there with Blackbird.

Most albums I bought this year were metal albums from previous years. I just recently got into metal (old and nu), so I grabbed a bunch of Trivium, BFMV, Killswitch Engage, Iron Maiden, etc.
