They're basically a blues-rock band. They've morphed their style over the years. From their first album to Rubber Factory it was pretty straight-forward, garage rock with muddy production. After that they started to expand a little bit, adding subtle textures and layers. Brothers sounds like their most produced album (even with Danger Mouse producing Attack & Release) as it, above all things, is a throw back to the best music from the 50s and 60s.

Thanks! iTunes just upped their previews to 90 seconds, so I got to listen to a good portion of the album! I think I'm gonna purchase. I like Howlin' For You and Everlasting Light!

I didn't buy too many new albums this year. The only ones (so far) I found myself listening to all the way through are:

1) Filter - The Trouble with Angels
2) Guster - Easy Wonderful

Cool experience I had w Everlasting Light...

Was listening to that song and coincidentally watching a highlights video of Deron Williams crossing people over and the song + the video were like in-sync. Plus the song just gave a cool aura to the highlight reel. This song would make for good use with a sports highlight reel.

And also The Soft Pack - The Soft Pack

I really didn't buy many this year, but these two I like front to back. I'm an album guy, so I'm much more impressed by an overall effort than a great single.

I only listen to rap/hip-hop so my list is limited to a Top 5. I still haven't listened to a few albums like the new Lloyd Banks, Rick Ross, Bun B, etc. so this list could change or be added to later on.

The Roots' album is REALLY good IMO. Loving it.

I also included Friday Night Lights because it might as well be an album, lol.

Boxer Rebellion - Union came out in January of 2009.

I picked it up off of iTunes right after it came out. They don't have a record label, so that's probably why there is confusion.

Gotcha. Wasn't doubting you. Just thought it was weird. I know they do reissues all the time now, especially with how fast bands hop labels these days.

Alter Bridge - AB3

I honestly can't think of any other albums that came out in 2010 I bought this year. AB3 is a modern rock classic however, right up there with Blackbird.

Most albums I bought this year were metal albums from previous years. I just recently got into metal (old and nu), so I grabbed a bunch of Trivium, BFMV, Killswitch Engage, Iron Maiden, etc.
