    Re: Top Movies of 2010?

I loved "The Town". It reminded me so much of "Heat" (which was a good thing), but it felt like it wasn't as slow as "Heat" was, making it better.

It was well executed by Affleck, and the cast was pretty solid all the way through. He took an OK story and made it into a pretty great movie.

It doesn't deserve oscar consideration, except for maybe Renner as a Supporting Actor. But, the only Best Picture-worthy movie from this year that I have seen so far is Inception (Many people probably think it should win, but there is no shot that it will, like The Dark Knight), so "The Town" might just get a nomination by default because of how weak the movies were this year.

All in all, I loved the movie, but it's definitely not oscar-worthy.

Well said. I'm not sure what makes a movie oscar-movie but I enjoyed the movie a lot.

I know the plot was much simpler then a movie like Inception but I would watch it over Inception in a heartbeat.

        Shutter Island
        The Town

Mine, in that order. Inception might be in my top 5 all time.

The Fighter, The Town, Easy A, The Social Network, Toy Story 3

True Grit may make the list. I doubt Little Fockers will. It has been getting horrendous reviews, and I mean horrendous. Horrendous Fockers

Me too. Never got the love for Inception-tastes I guess.

I've been enjoying Regis saying Fockers every time one of the cast members is on.

That came out this year? I know I watched it this year, but I figured I just missed it.

If that's the case, that's definitely in my top ten.

I was turned off because the plot description reminds me of a weak story I came up with for a media arts class in high school. We had to write a 25 page script and I swear, the Crazies is the exact story I wrote (based on plot).

"People in a town become crazed killers when the water supply is contaminated."
Depending on when you wrote that, the original version of The Crazies came out in the 70's. Same basic plot, I don't remember if it dealt with water, but it was the same thing.

Oh, yea I know it was a remake. I don't mean to say that they copied my idea. I just mean to say that I knew in high school that it was a crappy idea. I wasn't interested in watching a multi-million dollar version of that product.
