Re: Shameless
Sorry I'm late but I used my resources to see this show and I'm hoping that it can become a Showtime staple like Californication, Dexter and Weeds which are the popular Sho shows that I'm sure pretty much everyone knows about... and yes the "HOT" factor is alive and well with this show... from Emmy Rossum, to her black friend/neighbor V, to Lips girl aka Daddy's girl and Ian's fake girlfriend who from what I can tell doesn't know that Ian is getting it on with her brother (crazy ish right there)http://www.twitter.com/jconWORD <- FOLLOW ME! ...WORD!Comment

Re: Shameless
Just finished the entire season 1. Wow. Train wreck! Only really troubled by one portion, .... well, make that two portions.
Macy delivers as always. Joan Cusack played her role to a tee. And the kid who plays "Lip" really looks like he could translate to the big screen with the right roles.
In case you've never seen it, this promo gives you a sense:

Line of the season so far:
SpoilerWhen Frank is challenged by his ex-wife's new girlfriend "Bob" about his penis size: "Mine's for growin'..... not for showin', but believe me, when it's showin', it's growin" "! lol...somethng like that.Last edited by daflyboys; 06-21-2011, 10:03 AM.Comment

Re: Shameless
Would anyone here recommend this show? The new season starts in a few weeks and Showtime has the first season on demand.Comment

I watched the pilot a couple of days ago and didn't like it. While I like Rossum, I found Macy's character to be really annoying.Comment

Re: Shameless
Just started watching the second season. Its kinda overexaggerated compared to last years. Last years season had some touches of realism which made their lives seem like someone you know or knew but they have left the realm of realism and now every antic is over-the-top and downright unlawful.
Examples:
Spoiler1. Frank losing the kid to a bet. Where to begin....first off, Frank wagering 10K was ludicris for starters...then the guy actually believing that this half-homeless man was gonna somehow muster up 10K. Next, he keeps the kid. Now the obvious thing would be to call the police. Of course not, Frank wonders off, forgets about the kid and takes a nap. WTF! Who wrote this stuff? I know Frank is supposed to be the F up of all F ups but the entire ordeal from him making the rediculous wager to the dude and his goons to Franks family being so awesome that they could just walk right in and get their kid back without a fight is lame IMO. Just a completely lame and unrealistic story.
2. The older brother: Considered to be a genious and the best hustle he could come up with is staging fights in some sort of wierd Fightclub. A fightclub? This is what a genious does to make money? Right. Then they find this abandoned ice cream truck to sell drugs? Really? Its as if they have ran out of clever ideas.
3. Fiona: They just completely rewrote her character. She seemed halfway decent and innocent in the first season, now she's loose. I can understand given the events of the last season so no complaints about the direction she's going in. My complaint stems from the fact that she works nights at a club and comes home and runs a day care in which the children do all the work. Seriously, where is any realism in this? Not even the slightest bit of "this could work" or "I've heard of this happening before" anywhere on the writing team?
Last but not least, my man with the pot stash in the backyard. Nothing was realistic or entertaining about having a pot bonfire in the middle of the hood. Nothing. Where are the concious minded parents? The whistle-blowing old neirbors who would have called the police? Wouldn't somebody get arrested or fined for doing something like this?
When my lady put me up on this show, I liked the charm in it. It seemed as if in the first season, the writers took things that were actually happening in real life and applyed them to the show. I had plenty of "I know somebody who did that" moments with the first season. The Gallager's are Shameless for the simple fact that they are always trying to cheat the system. Now everything just seems rediculous and over the top. Am I the only one who feels this way?http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Shameless
I felt the same exact way watching last nights premier. The fight club scene at the beginning threw me off. Not so much the over top nature of it. More of the way the scene was filmed and the effects used. Wasn't the gritty Shameless I remembered.
Maybe last nights over the top antics was just a way to reintroduce the characters for new viewers? Either way I'll continue watching. Still enjoy the show more than most of the stuff on TV.Comment

Yea, I'll continue watching it to. But only for so long. The first episode of the season kinda turned me off a lil. Kinda like how Eastbown and Down was the second season.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Shameless
When has this show not been over the top!?! About the only thing I couldn't endorse was last year's late season sex scene.... ya, that one.
This does take Macy away from the movies however. At least I think it does. What has he been in recently or scheduled to be? I gotta hit IMDB.Comment
