Absolutely badass. Best Marvel movie to date and just slightly below Dark Knight.

This is the Magneto I've been waiting for!

        Re: X-Men: First Class

Absolutely fantastic, and I may have enjoyed this more than all the previous X-Men movies. Really liked the two lead characters and was surprised how good this was. Time flew. But I'm completely with jmood on this one: the special efffects sucked. Just like with the Wolverine movie, there were too many moments where I could easily see bad special effects. It wasn't a big deal overall, but just a minor annoyance.

The only special effects I really took notice of was Emma Frost's diamond form. Other than that I never really paid attention to them.

                White Queen for me.

Also I thought Nightcrawler's father, Azazel, was well done.

                  Good news for sure.
THIS, i was thinking back on the original X-men movies and it dawned on me, they ALL focused on Wolverine; not all that but then he got his own movie afterwards. It was good to see this movie center around Magento and Xavier but also add in the other X-Men as actually characters.

As much as i lover Wolverine and what Hugh Jackman has done with the character, if he is to ever come back into the franchise, i hope he isn't the star and the story isn't focused on around him anymore.

Thats how they "dawged" my boy cyclops in the first trilogy and gave him a crappy scene in The Last Stand

I agree, I felt like Cyclops wasn't really tough in the trilogy... I wish he could be like the Cyclops in the 90s cartoon

                      Re: X-Men: First Class

Awesome movie. Doesn't come close to Batman Begins or Dark Knight, but that's probably because I'm biased towards Batman, but it might be my third favorite comic book/super-hero movie of all time behind those two.

Magneto was badass, Xavier was played/written perfectly and I agree with the above...I think Azazel was the most well-done other than those two. Havok was also done well, as was Mystique.

My only problem, as someone who never read any X-Men comics or know anything about the backstory other than the X-Men cartoon, is was Tinkerbell really the only other flying "bad" mutant they could add to the story?

                          Re: X-Men: First Class

Cyclops was smacked in the face in the three movie series. Especially in the 3rd one. A shame.

Hopefully we see him in a sequel of this series. One thing I didn't like about this movie is they kind of wasted his brother, Havok. Could have done more with the character. Henchmen could have also been more developed.

Saw it last night, almost certainly the best Marvel movie for me.

Just saw this earlier today. First off, this was an excellent movie and would be a great starting point for future Xmen movies.
Second, what they changed with the histories of Charles and Erik i thought was leagues better than the canon backstories in the comics. i mean come on
                              Spoiler

Loved the two cameos, Mystique and the relationship she has/had with both Erik and Xavier (Jennifer Lawrence was niiiiiice. I wanna see Hunger Games more now), and Emma, though i wish she was more snobbish as she is portrayed in the comics.

The only thing i really didn't like much was Emma's diamond form. Didn't like the segmented look though it makes sense since diamonds are like that.

Finally, IMO a worthy X-Men movie, though that's not saying 1 and 2 were bad.

by the way henry jackmen did a great job with the entire soundtrack
