Loved the movie. 1 of the only movies I had urge the to walk into movie across the hall to see again. My favorite character is Wolverine so I was disappointed not to see him in it.

Yeah, but its not like he didn't have 4 movies committed to him anyway. It would be interesting to see Wolverine be worked back in because I really like this story/world a lot more.

They want it to be a new franchise.

Got back not too long ago and this movie was well done reminding me a lot of Batman Begins in structure of taking the franchise back to the basics. I am glad that they were able to tie this back to the original trilogy. Granted a lot of this film doesn't follow the comic books, they did a good job with it and I can't wait to see where they go with a sequel.

The Wolverine appearance was plain awesome and just overall hilarious. Also the scene with Rebecca Stamos was a nice addition.

My only complaints would have to be with the Magneto outfit and how The Beast looked when we see him after he takes the shot. He did look Teen Wolf at one point. LOL!

When i first saw the trailer for this movie months ago when it premiered, i said this was going to be Batman Begins of the Marvel and X-Men franchise.

With how they reformed Batman and grounded it in realism and gave us a "mature" character, Marvel was able to succeed and carve a spot right next to or even above Batman:Begins

This movie was a freaking mazing. They did an excellent job crafting Erik and Xavier. The movie had a mature feeling but still fun enough to "marvel" in itself with the mutants and its characters. The story was a good set up and origin story for really set off something big, with that being said the movie self contained was also very good.

A couple things sort of bothered me though

Alex Summers!!!!! Isn't that Scott's younger brother in most of the comics. The fact that the movie takes place in the 60s and Alex is a teen sort of implies either that Scott going to be much older or their doing their own thing and introduce Cyclops differently and probably have him younger???

They did a good job with the "age" of the main characters. Charles and Erik were a good age to look their part, Mystic and Beast i can buy, even Banshee; but Alex shouldn't be this age right????

Any thing was Magento's finally costume, sort of campy and cheap looking, but this helmet was awesome

Thats great as long as Hugh Jackman stays Wolverine (haven't seen the movie yet). He will always be Wolverine to me. He was born to play that role.

Agreed. The cameo was awesome, the funniest scene in the movie IMO. I was expecting possibly a longer conversation when I saw him but, that was perfect.

For me this is up there. Definitely top 3 when it comes to super hero movies.

I must say this movie was truly the X-Men.....Amazing from beginning to end! Filling in the history of where they began was incredible, Kevin Bacon was awesome. Professor X's acting was superb and overall this was a fantastic film.

I've never been a real fan of Magneto. I understood his complexities but I was never really hooked on him as a character. Now, I am. Fassbender was, pun intended, simply magnetic. Dude was swag all the way.

McAvoy as Xavier was perfect as well. When they first announced him as Xavier I was a bit unconvinced he would be a good Xavier even though I knew he was a good actor. He played young Charles really well and could bust out all the grooviness that came with this Charles I never knew before.

Kevin Bacon? Surprisingly awesome. Didn't expect much but he brought some first class villainy to the movie. Jones as Emma Frost was actually fitting considering her usually cold acting on Mad Men but I couldn't help but feel like I was watching Betty Draper with mutant powers for most of her screen-time.

First Class flick and IMO, best X-Men yet. I'd put this above Thor for sure.

I have mixed feelings about this movie. I have and still read comics as I am sure a lot of you do to.

I really like the Xavier/ Magneto story, but as far as story goes thats about it. While I enjoyed the movie for what it was, there were just to many holes and confusions for me. Since this was the first class I was expecting THE first class not characters that didn't even exist until the 70's and 80's. It also seemed to me that they were mixing story lines from different times and different arcs.

I think all of the characters were done really well as a whole. Except for Havoc being older than Cyclops and Banshee not being Irish everybody else was done really well. I liked the story and thought it was well written.

While I did enjoy the movie as a superhero movie I just get a little tired of these reboots that don't even attempt to stay true to books or history that is established. My feelings could also be tied to the upcoming DC Universe reboot that has me a little worried and irritated as well. It may seem like I am nit-picking but hey thats what opinions are for. This is just my opinion as well and I am not trying to step on any toes. I just wasn't completely happy with this movie.

PS I do know that this is based on the books Xmen First Class. I just still am not a fan of reboots or "re inventing" something that has been around for 30+ years and changing the base story to fit some modern continuity.

C'mon now, there is no real continuity to comics, it is only what the current writers want to write about and their interpretation of events/characters.

I did. Disappointing for sure. Then again, this wasn't a Marvel produced film like Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk were.

Yeah, I did. I sat there thinking to myself as I watched others walk out "you freakin amatuers! don't you know anything about x-men/marvel movies? what a bunch of losers." Lol.
