...so she can't sing? I think she sings pretty well on "Speechless", for example, but maybe that's just me.

There's nothing wrong with being a dude and defending Lady Gaga. I can't speak for CHooe, but I don't see liking a variety of music (including popular mainstream music!) and recognizing talent therein to be a bad thing.

Listened to a few bars of that. It's just okay.... nothing that hasn't been done before, but she has an average voice without the techno-crap. Liking a variety of music had nothing to do with my comment. Recognizing talent.... well I guess that depends on the definition of talent. I look at it more as she found a schtick in being "out there", which has been done before. For some reason LG is more appealing today.

I am in fact not kidding. Why in the world would that be a problem? She's a talented musician by any measure, if eclectic in how she acts (putting it nicely, haha).

There's no "problem" other than the problem is today's measures are generally pretty low. As far as how she acts..... it's generally trashy covered up by background pops and whistles. I call her eccentric, not eclectic. Maybe in 15 years listen back on her stuff and see if you have the same opinion.

I think you're putting too much emphasis on her schtick. I'm indifferent on it, personally. When I have a song on my MP3 player, I'm not watching the video, so her image means nothing to me. The biggest knock on her (in general) seems to be "it's been done already", which is really a bad argument. How many original acts are there nowadays, you know?

Obviously, that's the position she puts herself in, but it overshadows the talent she does have.
