    At&t buys out T-mobile for 39 billion

It is like I said last year, T-mobile was going to get bought out and yep, they did.

Now hopefully AT&T starts getting some good phones. Or AT&T lets us purchase phones on T-Mobile.

      I have a plan with T-Mobile.

Does this mean that my plan will be reworked or will I be able to keep the same plan?

      Another article.

It is going to be re-worked eventually and you will be paying At&t prices. I am sure in the next couple of weeks or month you will be getting a letter explaining what is going to be changed and what the new price of your cell phone bill is going to be.

Kind of funny I just seen a T-mobile commercial making fun of the Iphone 4. I guess those commercials are going to be pulled. And I am sure thousands of T-mobile sales reps is going to be fired. At&t doesn't operate that way, they have stores, not people walking up and down the mall.

It is going to be weird going into Walmart and seeing At&t and Verizon contract phones only.

eh, all the talk a year ago was about them merging with Sprint to better go after the US market. ATT just threw down some heavy cash because they got lazy with their 4G rollout and this will help significantly. It would take them years to secure land and build the towers they're getting in this deal.

You'd think the FTC would frown on the rapid telecom consolidation going on again, but they won't do anything about it now. ATT and Verizon will only control nearly 80% of the market when this goes through.

Hopefully this is great for AT&T. T-Mobile should bring their phones and 4G to AT&T. For T-Mobile users, most likely you will be able to keep you plan as long as you don't add anything to it. If you start adding stuff to it, then most likely you will have to change it.

This should help the Iphone users as AT&T should have more capacity now. Hopefully AT&T doesn't start shutting down towers that are in the same area to save money. Also AT&T needs to continue with their 4G roll out and just add T-mobiles 4G to it.

I don't have problems with AT&T, but I almost switched to Verizon because of the Android phones. AT&T better bring some phones now.

As an ATT customer I'm happy about this.

As a T-Mobile customer I'm weary about this at best. I already get unlimited data for a reasonable price, as far as I know ATT is moving towards tiered data. If so, I hope I don't end up paying more for less. Another thing I love about T-Mobile is their customer service, not sure how it is on ATT's end but I'd be disappointed with anything less than what I get currently.

Re: At&t buys out T-mobile for 39 billion

Saw the news this afternoon. I'm a T-Mobile guy. I don't see this taking effect until maybe sometime next year or late this year. The article i read said the courts have to approve the deal before it goes down, don't want AT&T becoming a power house now.

Since this is a buyout and not a merger, i don't see AT&T changing its motto or even name to include T-Mobile. This is solely to benefit AT&T ten folds. Now they get to increase their network and take full advantage of the HPSA+ network thats out there. I'm hoping the inclusion of T-mobile allows anyone that was previously on T-mobile to now purchase at&t phones without having a hard time.

T-Mobile pioneered the android market and At&t steam rolled America with the Iphone. Hopefully with both networks on the same page now, we can truly see some pretty interesting stuff and ideas.

ATT has unlimited data for non smart phones and their customer service is really good. I've never had a problem with them.

                        T-mobile has spoken.....no Iphone.

"T-Mobile USA remains an independent company. The acquisition is expected to be completed in approximately 12 months. We do not offer the iPhone. We offer cutting edge devices like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G and coming soon our new Sidekick 4G."
