    Netflix Movie Club

Are you tired of endlessly searching for streaming free movies on Netflix?

Is your queue filled with movies and programs which you will probably never get in the mood to watch?

Do you find yourself only looking for titles with 4 or more stars?

Have you ever said "**** this", and turned cable/tv back on because you cant find anything to watch??

Well lets put our macho brains together and suggest some movies/documentaries for our OS family.

I'm sure the general consensus here would be that most of us here prefer the action/sci-fi/crime drama, male testosterone, adrenaline pumping, blood soaked, gun toting, car chasing, explosion filled movies that your significant other would roll her eyes in disgust at. Well lets unite and look no futher.

Rules are simple. When you add a movie, lets make sure that its not anything popular like the Matrix or Goodfellas as I'm sure most, if not all of us here has seen it. Mostly films that flew completely under the radar cause I see hundreds of them everyday while browsing.

First on my list is this little independent movie I seen yesterday call "Gang Tapes".

Dont let the bootleggedness of any previews or trailers fool you. Its a low buget grizzly tale about this youth who happens upon a stolen camcorder and records his everyday life with these group of thugs. All of the characters felt extremely real and the clever part is how they filmed it all with this camcorder to catch all of the right, drama filmed moments that goes on in the grimey LA gang scene. I cant say there is anything award worthy but I felt it was a great movie overall because of its realism. It almost feels like someone really did find this camcorder and made it go viral.

Anyway, of course it isn't for everybody but you can find it on your netflix instant movies list. Its like Menace II Society-Boyz in the Hood if they made a reality tv show.

Another good one I stumbled upon was "Rampage"

Its the story of a down on his luck dude who goes completey ****** postal and runs amuk in this little town. Alot of hand held, first person perspective killing and a few funny moments. There is some suprisingly good acting as well. Movie probably got bad scores because of the senseless killing but hey, its entertainment nonetheless. Everyone here has played FPS games and murdered nameless foes in a variety of ways. Well this movie is like watching a bad video game story unfold without having your hand on the controller.

Anyways, here are my few that I recommend. Documentaries are welcome.

Netflix is REALLY slow when it comes to adding stuff to their instant stream. They got 10 times more newer movies in disc format. I was surprised they had Spartacus season 1 & 2 on instant stream.

I don't follow movies that closely so, I don't know if these are considered "blockbusters" or not, however, these are two that I watched over the past couple of months that I really liked.

A splinter group of Roman soldiers fight for their lives behind enemy lines after their legion is decimated in a devastating guerrilla attack.

Also, this is an old-y but a goody:

Well for me, I do this all the time: Find a movie to fall asleep to, browse for 20-40 min. Realize I just wasted all that time browsing. Pick a random movie. Fall asleep during the first 20 minutes of the movie.

It sucks cause I'd be in the mood for a movie then end up picking some documentary and lose interest quickly after putting it on.....or just put on some porn.

I'm just looking for some suggestion since I have this problem. What better place for some good flicks then a room full of hard legs that is OS.

I have a share of those issues as well. However, I wouldn't mind any solid picks you guys could throw out there because there's a lot of popular flicks I haven't seen. For instance, I was pretty pumped to see that Shutter Island was available to stream.

My most recent stream was Robocop.

I watch Netflix more for television than movies. I usually skim the movie selection once every couple of weeks and can find something I'm interested in.

Last movie I watched Human Centipede. Not sure I'd recommend it to anyone though.

The Centurion movie that jeremym mentioned was good fun though.

This site is good to see what is coming, and what is expiring, and looking things up by review rating, etc.

Arn: The Knight Templar (Swedish Film)

Great film, IMO! I loved it. Regardless what imdb, etc has it rated.

The Warlords is great as well, even though I have the Chinese HK release from a few years ago when it came out. Chinatown rules for getting Asian films before they come out here years later.

I always wanted to see Felon and Centurion was pretty good to. I just added Bad Boys with Sean Penn to the list yesterday.

This is a good idea for a thread. I often find myself spending 30 minutes looking for a movie to watch, trying to decide, then realize that the movie sucks and start looking again. It is a vicious cycle.
