Top 10 Looking Blu ray Movies

I think everyone can agree that Avatar and The Dark Knight are the cream of the crop as far as how it looks on a HDTV. But what are 3-10? (Not if the movie was any good just the picture quality).

Wall-E, Toy Story 3, really any Pixar movie. They're all gorgeous.

Aside from IMAX sequences, I wouldn't agree with The Dark Knight at all. That's just me though.

If we're going by transfer alone or overall beauty in scope and spectacle (as in, a beautiful action-heavy movie would dominate a beautiful dialogue-heavy movie because of the information it has to put on screen), for the movies I've seen or I own I would go with:

          1. Toy Story 3
          2. Cars
          3. Avatar
          4. WALL-E
          5. Live Free or Die Hard
          6. UP
          7. Hot Fuzz
          8. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
          9. King Kong
          10. Sin City

As you can tell, most of them are animated movies. If you omit them, I would put:

          1. Avatar
          2. Live Free or Die Hard
          3. Hot Fuzz
          4. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
          5. King Kong
          6. Sin City
          7. Hard Candy
          8. Inception
          9. Black Hawk Down
          10. Wanted

These are only my personal opinion and combine a bunch of different elements, as in if something is shot like crap and filtered like crap, the Blu-ray transfer won't help me think it looks less like crap just because it was handled with care. And these ratings have nothing to do with how much I like the movie, unless of course I haven't seen it like The Thin Red Line.

Apparently the new transfer of Taxi Driver is flawless. Also The Thin Red Line is supposed to be referance grade. It's one of my favorite movies but sadly is region A locked at the moment.

Personally I thought Inception was brilliant and stuff like Beowulf looks outstanding as well.

Wall-E is bar none the best Blu-Ray picture quality I've ever seen. The closest example I've seen of a 2-D movie almost looking 3-D.

After copping Tron last night, I'd have to say it's an instant Top 10. Just a beautifully made movie.

I would also second Tron Legacy, movie/acting is only so-so but the video and sound are excellent. Also would throw in Tangled (another Disney movie that came out recently), video/sound are great - and it happens to be a really good movie. Some movies which haven't been mentioned yet:

                        How To Train Your Dragon
                        Speed Racer
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

                        XBL gamertag: d0meBreaker22 (that's a zero)

congrats Steelers, city of Pittsburgh, and Steeler Nation - SIX TIME WORLD CHAMPS

Like someone else mentioned, anything Pixar.

                          Others:
                          Star Trek 09
2001 (looks amazing considering its age)
                          Iron Man (either of them)
                          Transformers (either of them)
                          Avatar
                          Dreamgirls
How to train your dragon (dreamworks stepped up big time)
                          Sin City
Wizard of Oz (looks amazing considering its age)

It isn't very popular but speed racer looks pretty awesome. It has a lot of futuristic elements and lighting effects to really make it look great.
