It's interesting. Basically a "straight" remake of Twin Peaks, with the supernatural elements and quirkiness removed, and a bit of Se7en added for good measure.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Other than that I thinking the acting has been superb. Most notably Rosie's parents. When I watch them it's almost like they aren't even "acting" and she was their real kid.
My bold prediction as to who the killer is can is: (putting in spoilers just because)SpoilerThe Female Detective's Fiancée. I have a hunch that he's at least involved in someway. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
i watched the 2 hour pilot and have last sunday's episode on dvr. Now if I can get work to go away so i can watch tv, that would be great.
I thought the first 2 hours were very good. AMC seems to do a great job picking shows: Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead are all set to record on my DVR.NCAA: Pitt, Arkansas State
MLB: Pirates
NFL: Steelers
NBA: Lakers

That has been driving me crazy too, but then she said she had just quit smoking so it made sense that she was chewing gum all the time. That made it a little better, but still. hahaKansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

SpoilerThey're definitely painting him as a bit sketchy, whether it is simply meant as a red herring or not, idk. But that "bad vibe" is there with him, and I expect him to play a big/surprising role when all is said and doneComment

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
you know whats weird is that after the 3rd episode me and my wife both said that at first we didn't like that woman, but oddly, now feel that the show wouldn't be the same without her. Like when it first started I didnt think Id like her and in turn wouldn't be able to get into the show, but she is like the perfect person for that role.Comment

Other than that, I know it's taboo sometimes to talk about the previews for next weeks episode but, from the previews it looks like the next episode is going to be really good.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
The story is really well done and engrossing thus far, almost up there with Rubicon and Breaking Bad in terms of quality. I'm a little suspicious of the main detective's new partner, hard to get a read on him and whether or not his intentions are good. Also the dialogue in this show is really well done, a staple of all AMC shows.Comment

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
I was suprised to see Charles Widemore make an appearance last week lol (not sure what his real name is).
Spoiler
in spoiler tages just in case:
While I knew eventually that teacher would have a larger role in the big picture, I am hoping they don't end every episode with a new twist. Seems thus far they end each episode wanting you to be thinking about something different.
The dad/mafia connection raises some possibilities as well.

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
Was going to search for a thread too. Good job Rider.
I'm loving this series. I thought the first 30 minutes were insanely slow and tedious but it all started to pull together after the second commercial break. Really opened my eyes to how great all of the little things are in this show.
I don't have any assumptions on who the killer is. I have no clue. Everything feels like a red herring at this point so I'm just going to try to enjoy the ride.
Bleh. I couldn't get into Twin Peaks. Way too soap opera-ish for me. It started focusing away from the killing of the girl and instead on the romance behind every single character. I think by the fifth or sixth episode I shut it off mid-way and returned the DVDs to Netflix."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
