Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
And for people curious about these things, The Killing's ratings went up in the third week compared to the first two.
The first two each drew 2.2 Million viewers. I don't have the exact number from week 3, but I read it's a very small increase. Either way, the people watching are still watching."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Was going to search for a thread too. Good job Rider.
I'm loving this series. I thought the first 30 minutes were insanely slow and tedious but it all started to pull together after the second commercial break. Really opened my eyes to how great all of the little things are in this show.
I don't have any assumptions on who the killer is. I have no clue. Everything feels like a red herring at this point so I'm just going to try to enjoy the ride.
Bleh. I couldn't get into Twin Peaks. Way too soap opera-ish for me. It started focusing away from the killing of the girl and instead on the romance behind every single character. I think by the fifth or sixth episode I shut it off mid-way and returned the DVDs to Netflix.Comment

Anyway, I basically said I agree with you about the female lead. Maybe I'll write the rest another day."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. The lead actress is definitely growing on me too. She's a solid actress, IMO. As I said before, the other chick (the one from True Blood) is doing an awesome job too. Heck, the acting all around has been top-notch.
@ willIam9387 - I can't quite get a read on him either. I guess he's a cop who's on drugs but, I'm not 100% sure. Because the time he was smoking with those kids he told his partner that he was smoking something that looked and smelled like MJ but, couldn't it have really been MJ? Also, the drugee kid from the last episode mentioned something about him "having the itch". I'm pretty sure that's another drug term and I also think that imply's that he does more than just toke up.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Yeah, I think there is alot more, we're going to learn that is really gonna twist this story. I love a show or movie like that. The cliffhanger endings are great and much like True Blood, keep me coming back for more!Comment

Definitely still into it but been watching on demand because I've been away every Sunday. By the time I watch, I'm trying to catch up on other shows and haven't been able to throw in my thoughts.

I'm getting nauseous with all these twist and turns. I'm losing interest.Comment

I am still watching it. Don't think it ends up being the teacher. Just way to obvious of a choice.Comment

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
This show has a bit of a 24 feel to it. Minus the awesomeness that is Jack Bauer of course. I just sit back and wait on twist after twist. I must say that I like the show but, I'm certainly not a huge fan. When the show is on I'm actually wanting it to end however, I really want to know who the killer(s) is (are). My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
Finally caught up to watch tonight's episode. Maybe I'll actually stay up late enough to do so.
Last week's episode was great for me. I realize Linden's personal life is important, but it was a nice refresher to get away from a storyline that's become a bit repetitive. It's been only about her not going home and needing to finish the case. We get it. Thank goodness the writers realized that too.
Obviously, I don't ever count anyone out as dead unless I see them in a casket, but the last scene (trying to avoid details for anyone worried about spoilers) makes me wonder if The Killing really is the best title for this series. It could be perfect if one killing leads to more and things just spiral out of control across the board. I guess, if you really want to stretch it, you could say The Killing also applies to the race for mayor.
AMC did good on this one. It's still going strong but the ratings have been dropping with each episode."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
